i called k & n the other day and said they sell it for 365 and to go to your local store and it should be 10 to 40% less then what they sell it at. so the price should range from 219 (highly doubtful) to 328.5. the kits were released on november 4th. i called them on the 6th.

Skyline, another thread over in the coupe section (I think), someone says the Nismo intake fits both the coupe and sedan.

Definitely get the Injen Cold Air Intake.. i have it for the sedan I feel wit pull in first second and pretty good in end of 3rd.. Sound is Crazy Too!!! Good gains they got from it too but you cant expect tremendous difference out of it either, go for INJEN!! iLLG35

Yea, I'm still worried about the water injestion problem reported over on my350z.com. I'll take the Nismo. Same gains, none of the problems.

How much did you pay for the Nismo? I like the idea that it is a genuine factory upgrade.

Re: NISMO, STILLEN, or INJEN CAI?

I just ordered my INJEN CAI from www.ajusa.com.
I shopped around and their price was $249+Tax (free shipping)! I'd like to know if anyone else has the INJEN CAI in their sedan automatic and how well it performers!

Re: NISMO, STILLEN, or INJEN CAI?

i dunno. the my350Z guys were talking about how the CAI's might suffer from air actually getting pressurized incorrectly or something like that at high speeds, which tadashi from TS was telling me about as well. on the dyno, the gains show 14 or so, but on the road with the wind making high pressure zones, etc, the aerodynamics of the car will actually suck air out of the CAI becuase of its placement.
id say stillen and a z tube, but thats just my opinion.

Re: NISMO, STILLEN, or INJEN CAI?

nuttyprof,

I'm confused. Did Tadashi actually say that air is sucked out of the Stillen's G35 CAI at speed?

If anything, I would think this is less likely to happen with a CAI's air filter that's placed in the stock air filter case's location.

How is the Z air duct involved in this theory? Injen, K&N, AEM all replace the stock resonated G35 air duct with a nearly straight piece of metal tubing. How the the Z tube differ, other than it's plastic?

Since Injen's the only one who claims 14hp, do we assume he's talking about their CAI?

Re: NISMO, STILLEN, or INJEN CAI?

daveO,
actually, he was referring to the CAI's that go in the bumper and not ones such as the stillen that go in the factory location(i forget that the stillen is a CAI as well). with that said, the theory does not apply to the Z tube in conjunction with the stillen airbox set up.

but with the claimed loss of 10 hp with the stillen box i have been hearing about, perhaps the stillen is as worthless as the other CAI's as well. this is not yet proven with the readjusted ecu, but so far, the outlook doesnt seem too bright.

for awhile, i had the K&N typhoon short ram intake on my sedan, and that actually had a dyno proven 9 hp gain(which i have) and would not suffer from the effects of the proposed theory. might want to look into that when it is officially released and available for purchase.

Re: NISMO, STILLEN, or INJEN CAI?

Sounds interesting. I may have to hook up a vacuum sensor in there and connect it to a PLC to measure and graph the pressure in there at various speeds.

Re: NISMO, STILLEN, or INJEN CAI?

i installed my nismo cai on sunday. it took me and a friend 1 hour 45 minutes to install it on my coupe. that was without removing the tire and wheel well as nismo suggested. it looks good and sounds good. i'm not sure that i can really tell a difference on performance yet because i've only had one day to drive that it hasn't been pouring rain. i recommend the nismo (for now).
