Magnaflow Ti exhaust

Saw a little writeup in HCI magazine and queried the vendor. Here's the reply:
We expect the Infiniti G35 system to be available in January or February. Currently there is minimal information on the site about the titanium (Magnaflow Ti) systems. The system will NOT be a true dual exhaust. This is because of 3 reasons. Please keep in mind our titanium systems are designed for race or race type applications so.... Reason number one is because a single system will perform better than a dual. Reason number 2 is because with our titanium systems we try to eliminate as much weight as possible, so doing the dual system would defeat that purpose to a certain extent. Reason number three is that there would be even more additional cost to the system. On the sound of the system I am not sure how it sounds at this point or how I would describe it. Cost of the system will probably be in the neighborhood of $1000-$1200. Thanks for your interest in Magnaflow Performance.

Re: Magnaflow Ti exhaust

From what I know about exhaust, a dual pipe system sounds better, performs better and looks better. The system may weigh a few pounds more but the benefits far offset this difference.
My Borla system is 12 lbs lighter than OEM, yields 8 RWHP and 5 RW ft lbs, and sounds better than stock. IMHO
For the money, my system suits me just fine.
I'd like to see (and hear) the proof that a single pipe will perform and sound better than 2.
I could be wrong and, have no proof, but to say differently is a marketing ploy to keep costs down. JMHO.
Even if a single pipe was proven to perform better, I wouldn't give up my dual system anyway because it looks and sounds better to me.

Re: Magnaflow Ti exhaust

JIC-Magic's Bullet series of exhausts have been proven to make more power in a single than a dual setup (9 hp more if I am correct)

3.5 altima's have been doing this for about a year and a couple months. there is a guy running mid 13's in a five speed altima with bolt'ons partly due to the single exhaust (he uses an apexi N1, very loud but very effective at high rpm) and also has intake, racepipe (no cat), udp and I think that is it.

JIC's single exhaust
