JWT pop charger for our G

Do you guys know if JWT pop charger air intake fits G35 sedan equiped with Z-tube? since JWT is desinged for 350Z and very similiar with Stillen High-Flow (but much cheaper), I'm think using JWT rather than Stillen High-Flow .

Hey 30, are you the one that ordered the pop charger from performance nissan? They told me someone had ordered one and was the tester to see if the heat shield fits the G or not.

speed, It's not me, I read someone mentioned JWT on FA and found out it's almost identical with Stillen or even better because its filter is not confined in the air box as Stillen.
If it fits our G, guess what people will buy?

I'm supposed to call back next week to get the update from the "tester" G. If it's a go then I'll place the order. I agree I like the lack of the restrictive air box enclosure. I'll keep you updated.

Since you guys don't like that "confining", "restrictive" air box that Stillen, K&N and others incorporate into their CAI designs, do you refer to the JWT Pop Charger as a HAI (hot air intake) system?

This's been discussed million times at different forums, different people like different designs, I personally don't like the design which places filter inches off the ground, when cars are moving forward, air coming from grill is cold to me without worries the snow and rain get info the filter.

30all,

"...., I personally don't like the design which places filter inches off the ground..."

I agree with this quoted section of your response. However, I still don't see the advantage replacing the stock CAI with a HAI. JWT makes an optional $40.00+ ("confining") heat shield for the 350Z. I'm reasonably sure it won't fit or at least seal properly against the G35's hood.

Re: JWT pop charger for our G

That is what I like to find out, if it does not fit or shields heat well enough, then I'll look for other solution. I just have a doubt about the Stillen's design by looking at the pic where the cone filter is stuck in the air intake box, it does not look like any increase on the size of the opening even it uses cone filter.
I'm not here to debate anything, just trying to find the best solution for myself. cheer.

30all,

Here's a picture of Stillen's velocity ring mounted inside their heat shield. I took it while cleaning the K&N air filter.

Concern for limiting air flow to the filter doesn't seem to be a problem... at least the way I see it.

The total area for the G35's air supply is approximately 13 in/sq. (The main opening - 4.625' x 1.625" = 8.775 in/sq; aux supply opening - 13.125" x .275" nominal.)

For comparision, the 350Z air intake system has a 3.5" x 3.5" (12.25 in/sq) hole through the radiator bulkhead that provides ambient air to the front of the airbox.

FYI... for those folks who have expressed concern for K&N's ability to properly filter air. After driving through two major dust/sand storms on a recent trip to Phoenix, I thought the K&N air filter might need cleaning. While the outside of the filter was covered in dust, the internal surfaces of the intake system were extremely clean. No dirt, no sand, no oil.

Re: JWT pop charger for our G

Does anyone have pics of the new heat box for the JWT pop charger, the one that looks like the Stillen Air Box?
