What exhaust to get?

I have a pretty stock 06 6MT Coupe, except it has been lowered on 350Z H-Techs. I have never been into performance mods, or anything in that area. I have dome some interior mods, lighting, etc.

I've been researching on exchausts and the the HKS exhausts catches my eye each time. I love the titanium tips, and the look of it. I saw some video clips, but it's really hard to tell how loud it really is.

I want something that looks different than stock (HKS looks different), and something that is loud and sounds aggressive. Some people have been switching over to FastIntentions, but it seems as though its just a little bit louder than stock, and I can't justify spending that much to get little sound gain. Obviously, if the exhaust adds performance gains I'm in for it. I guess I'm not looking for anything TOOOO loud, but something loud and aggressive, and hopefully I do get gains, but I don't race too much on the streets (esp here in PA).

I figured while my car is in the shop being repaired over 3 weeks or so I'll spend money on something LOL.

Also, stupid question but I'm seeing couple of things such as HKS Catback and HKS Exhaust..Is there a difference? If so what?

If you like the look of the HKS Hiper TI (which is a Cat Back System), then go with it... You cant go wrong!

It looks great and sounds even beter!

It is a unique sound and look... Adds an even more aggressive look to your rear end...

We have them instock... PM your ZIP code for shipped price!

The HKS exhaust is a good system but its too high pitched and ricey for me. I had the Injen Track Edition Ti Tip exhaust which looks very similar to the HKS system with the burnt tips but its much louder and lower-pitched making it sound more aggressive and meaner. I got rid of it after a few months because it was too loud for me and droned way too much for my taste. Ive got the FI Intimidator exhaust now and its perfect for me.

If I were you, Id consider the Injen Track Edition though. Its a great system, very loud and very aggressive.

Here are some videos I made of the system when I had it on my car...

Enjoy!

hks hands down. dont settle for the injen...save up for hks if you want it. the injen does a poor job of replicating the look of hks and the drone is terrible.

FI Exhaust

Hey there -

Let me know if you have any questions on the FI Intimidator. The nice thing about it as well, is that if you want more sound, the system tuned CATS and resonated test pipes work VERY well, that are specifically designed to work with the system.

The systems adds about 11HP and 9TQ to a stock car, and with CATS/test pipes, you can get about 20HP and 18 TQ.

i just got my HKS last week for $1287.00 to my door!!!! It's awesome, i love it. It has an awesome tone to hit, no one will mistake you for a honda coming down the road. its loud under WOT but you won't even know its there while crusin on the freeway. i was trying to decide between HKS, stillen and FI and im very happy with my choice. Very easy to install also(once you get the stock one off), did it in my garage with my brother...now he's real jealous.

You will lose a little HP in you low-mid range but gain high end. Get test pipes with it to make up for the low-mid lose. even if you don't i know you'll love it!!! GOOD LUCK

I don't think you'll lose any torque with the HKS - never read anyone mentioning that before. It's only 2.25" piping - so should be fine.

The FI exhaust is 2.5" and the dynos there show no torque loss either (in fact it gains nicely).

Call Tony at FI (www.fastintentions.com) to get your best deal on the Intimidator system - the quality is 2nd to none. He was willing to work with me and I've got a lot of stuff planned on a limited budget (I'm working towards twin turbos and a built engine).
