Re: Xerd headers is the way to go!
He wasn't asking for your approval, he was simply trying to find out where to purchase them.

How about dropping the attitude? I know he wasn't asking for my approval, just like no one here is asking anyone else's approval for anything...Just like I don't need your approval to type my OPINION of Xerd headers in this thread, as this a FORUM, a place to express opinions and ideas

How about some unsolicited constructive feedback...?
SnM, sometimes you come off like a pompous know-it-all, and I'm pretty sure it's your frequent editorial comments that do it (e.g. "...have fun.") Of course, you're entitled to your opinions just like everyone else. And, of course, you're free to express them here or anywhere else. But sometimes an editorial comment can grate a little bit, and I can understand why someone may feel compelled to wade-in on you...
On balance, I think you make some great contributions here. I have learned from your comments. Thanks, and... Peace.

Re: Xerd headers is the way to go!
How about not.... That's good that you know he wasn't, but your comment was a bunch of bull and didn't help him out in the least. If he was asking of what people thought of them, then go ahead and chime in your opinions, but no... he was asking for help on where to find them. You just make yourself look like an *** towards the guy cause you were no help at all. So yeah, please get off of your "High Horse" and end the bickering about opinions and what not.
Re: Xerd headers is the way to go!
My feedback was kindly offered to SnMDesignStudio. Is your reply directed at me or SnMDesignStudio...?

Re: Xerd headers is the way to go!
borla headers make minimal gains.... I am not sure why but I have heard this. Although I did do the prototype and David Borla did say it added 8HP (gains only from adding headers to car with exhaust and intake already)[ie. baseline was done with the intake and exhaust installed] to my car on the dyno... but this is with a CAI installed. My guess is that it works much better when you have a full I/H/E combo installed as I have Injen CAI and both Borla headers\exhaust. On another note, Xerd headers are not liked by many due to them being long-tube headers which are great for performance. BUT there will probably be some raspiness and loudness due to the elimination of the cats. Also eliminating the cats makes it not possible to pass strict emissions laws in many states...california being the most strict (where I live). Thus many people are turned away from that idea, but imo I think the Xerd headers are an interesting product (as well as fully competent in what they do).
Re: Xerd headers is the way to go!
A: My post was not "bull", as no one's OPINION about performance equipment can be "bull" unless it includes lies or misinformation...I posted 2 short sentences that included neither
B: Look like an ***? So if I dislike a product I'm an ***, huh? While my comments may grate they also make SOME people think (the use of the word "grate" is not directed at bullseye)...I don't like typing all the pros and cons of every product out there for people every time a product is mentioned...I have no problem answering questions, and quite often I do launch into technical information, but sometimes I feel that maybe the members of this forum would be better served doing their own research...By all means ask questions, debate, get emotional- in another word, learn...But don't just rely on a few people's opinions and answers here for a mod that is going to alter how your vehicle behaves...There are those of us who can articulate an idea in such a manner as to not seem biased when in fact we are, and that can lead to someone making a decision that is not the best for them...Many, if not all, of the members seeking technical help do in fact conduct their own information gathering, so I'm not saying that no one here does research...I DO like helping and find that, every so often, making a comment that makes someone pause will fuel their desire to do some more research...Sometimes I explain the product in detail, sometimes I mention a little detail that hasn't come up to get people to ask questions and seek out facts, and sometimes I just make what seems to be an inflammatory comment to get the same effect...And SOMETIMES I just want to post a damn comment without having to F'ing defend it because some people are so GD sensitive...I've also found that doing your own thorough research often times makes you feel that you've made a solid decision that was not reliant upon the opinions of others, but rather the facts that you've uncovered
C: I don't care if using comments seems odd, flawed, or like "bull"...It works and a few people have sought out information on their own to make educated decisions
D: In those two short sentences I posted I never attacked Xerd...One person gives an attitude and then people assume I don't care for Xerd products...I have no issue with Xerd as a company...However, if I I were only modding my exhaust sysyem and I wanted to lose my cats I'd use TS headers and the Y-Pipe, which also eliminates cats...Enough said
E: The fact that we have to use "In My Opinion" or "Just My Opinion" or explain our posts because people want to get hostile on this forum is ridiculous...I'm well aware of how I come off...I'll take know-it-all as a compliment...Pompous doesn't offend me...In my first post I never made an attack, but someone has to get an attitude and then claim I'm on my "high horse"...Interesting...Well, I'm done explaining my posts...Think of me what you will- the fact remains that while I am quite capable of getting hostile and attacking, that never happened here in my first post...People on this forum need to act like the adults they're supposed to be and stop getting sensitive
IN OTHER NEWS: Accusing SnM's horse of being "high" is unfair. Mr. Horse was never in fact the subject of a drug test at any time and claiming drug abuse is both inflammatory and detrimental to his reputation. Mr. Horse's stance on drugs has always been "Up with Hope, Down with Dope!" and this allegation has caused him an incredible amount of emotional and psychological pain. This will conclude this press conference, and this is all that will be said at this time. We will not be fielding questions.

Re: Xerd headers is the way to go!
Wow, SnM, I guess you were a little upset, then. It probably would have taken me an hour or so to type all that. I hope you got it all out of your system. Sorry about that...
I do not plan to go with headers. Nor do I plan to eliminate the cats. Except for a K&N drop-in filter I had in the garage from my Maxima days of yore, the entire respiration system of my G35, from its intake to its exhaust tips, is stock. I'm not sure why I would change anything, with the stock ECU nullifying the benefits of any mods. For now, my mods will be confined to wheels, tires, springs, and anti-roll bars.
From what I've read here, all the intakes, Z-tubes, plenums, headers, test-pipes, and cat-back systems give you a day or so of extra power, as the ECU gradually cranks it all back down. Eventually, all you have left is a highly modified car with a nice throaty growl... and near-stock power output.
Isn't that frustrating? Man, I'm bummed. I know there's a ECU mod available, but until those guys put a shop in Memphis, I don't think that would be a practical choice. Besides, the ECU mod only mitigates the relearning loop, it does not remove it... Crap!

Re: Xerd headers is the way to go!
All I got to say is:
1.) WOW!!!
2.) CRAWFORD!!!
I wouldn't waste 100$ on the borla headers nevermind 500 - 600. Then 2nd worst would be the nismo ones they are good but not as good as Crawford. Third would be the xerd and from what I heard see and talked about the Crawford Headers have the best gains. They arent all pretty but they design is great no real lowend loss and major gains above 4600 I believe not sure as i havent seen they dyno in a long time. The only thing bad about them is price. 1300$!!!

350z Pipe / Stillen High-Flow
