Borla or Crawford Plenum?

Help me decide. I'm going to either buy the Borla exhaust or the crawford plenum. My wife is going to freak if I buy both right now. (it's all politics - don't ask) Which is the best bang for the buck? Borla ~$700, Plenum ~$500

Plenum...Your engine needs to breathe and the stock plenum is restricting that need...Exhaust can wait a bit...Get the plenum

Plenum all the way. Many dyno's have been done showing this.

"bang for the buck" --> go with the plenum, keep in mind that it is ugly, so be sure to try to modify the engine cover so that it fits over it, i dont think anybody's had warranty issues with it either, but its something to think about. The horsepower gains are pretty much all at redline, thats the reason why im holding back on it, how often do you drive at redline?

The borla exhaust sounds really sweet... its a beautiful thing +8hp

Re: Borla or Crawford Plenum?

Thanks for the responses. So let me understand correctly....the hp gains for the plenum are mostly @ redline? What about the exhaust? I'm not really worried about the warranty stuff - the plenum won't cause any damage. The dealer actually said they'd install it for me.

Go with the plenum for bang for the buck. It'll give you some hp down lower but more up at redline. The Borla is about the same but not quite as effective.
I really like my Borla, but the Crawford was a little more effective, and helps tune the engine a little.

Do the plenum first, then exhaust. Both are about breathing, so both come on after 3K RPM. The plenum comes on stronger. When you do the plenum, don't forget the "Z" intake tube and the K&N drop-in filter.

Re: Borla or Crawford Plenum?

Thx lowrider for the info on the 3K rpm. I've already got a Z-tube and a stillen CAI so the plenum will set up nicely until I get exhaust.

If you plan on getting the DW supercharger or any other supercharger\TT kit that will replace the OEM intake manifold (ie. plenum) I would put off on the plenum. This is exactluy why I didn't go for the plenum yet. I'll be getting the DW supercharger.....soon I hope.
