I have done some searching and can not really find any info on this. I know most people like/use the Stillen intake or the JWT pop charger but how does the HKS intake (N/A) stand up? I know HKS makes some good intakes and they look great so how do they stand up to the more popular intakes; performance? reliability?

intakes are intakes. what intake you get isn't going to matter a whole lot. you may get more heat soak from some, but youre not really going to notice any significant difference (in gains or losses).

when youre shopping for an intake, dont buy it for the gains. buy it for because it sounds cool

+1 to hero for that. Most air intakes are built for sound and looks on our cars. The ecu really wont allow for more air flow past the stock settings. Only way you will see gains from it are if you tune your car afterwords.

I have used the HKS intakes on 2 of my cars and have never had a problem with them. For our car it just isn't worth it because they're really expensive as far as intakes go. I'd rather spend half the money on an honest to god CAI setup rather than an expensive short ram one. The hks, greddy, blitz, and apex intakes are really popular with the turbo guys, but not the NA ones.

Correct. The HKS is a waste of $$$. Go with the Z-Tube and K&N drop in.
