Resonators Question

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone cut there Resonators off there 07 G to get a lounder or more aggressive sound off there stock exhaust?

What are your thoughts Would you Recommend doing this? Cus i like the stock sound just wish it was a bit louder and a aftermarket exhaust is to loud for my Preference

thanks

If you simply want your exhaust to be louder I would recommend to replace the stock mufflers with a performance turbo muffler. Removing the resonators will increase the raspy sound. Otherwise fork out the cash and purchase a Stillen exhaust just like I did. The sound isn't all that loud only under WOT.
I'm in the Long Beach area if you're interested in hearing my exhaust.

NISMO exhaust (sounds stock just louder) to fit the 350z nismo exhaust youll need the g35 extension pipe and custom extend the tips an extra two inches or so.

or high flow cats

or change the resonator in the midpipe to a smaller one (not too small though). magnaflow resonator...your local muffler shop can probably order one for yah.

Sweet thanks for the info. I just wanna keep my stock tips but have a lounder exhaust noise? So i'm guessing cutting the resonator is not a good idea?

thanks wes g.

you can replace the resonator with smaller one, or you can remove it. i would not suggest replacing the stock muffler with a "performance turbo muffler" if you want to keep the stock sound, just amplified.

or, you can add high flow cats. that will open things up and in turn make it a bit louder.

keep in mind, removing the resonator in the midpipe are replacing it with too small of a resonator may cause rasp.

here are some sound clips of a stock exhaust with a replaced resonator:

I like that, so those videos with the G35 coupe, the only thing done to the exhaust is smaller magnaflow resonator?

i believe it was just a generic resonator. not 100% sure, though.
