Question Chrome Z-Tube vs. Regular Z-Tube

Hey guy, I recently installed the pop charger intake and noticed it not being as loud as I thought it would be. Im guessing adding the Z-Tube might fix this problem from what I have read around and etc. maybe?

My question is that upon browsing everythingg35.com I came across the regular Z-Tube and the Chrome Z-Tube. Is there any difference, besides the price, if I were to get the chrome one instead of the regular plastic/rubber looking one? like fitment issues or quality issues? Thanks!

Either tube should be fine. The only concern, which I would personally have is . . . Would the chrome unit conduct more of the engine bay's heat and transfer the said to the incoming cooler air? If so, is the additional heat of a significant increase? Points to ponder.

just a follow up, it is day 3 with the new chrome Z-tube and all I can say is WOW! I just had the pop charger before but after removing the stock intake pipe and replacing it with the chrome z-tube, HUGE DIFFERENCE..The new sound is a subtle spool up of the intake. I love it

Yes, most definitely. That is how the majority of G owners utilize the Z tube.

Thanks for the reply... I'm definitely going to invest in this!

Also, is there a list or something I can view that lets me know what I can or can't do in order to maintain my warranty?
I just rolled 15,000 miles today in my 2004.

I think that a carbon fiber ztube would be the best in regards to performance. CF has the lowest heat absorbtion period and that is why you will see so much of it in high end performance cars like the McLaren, Lambos, etc. Plus if the CF is done right, it is one of the strongest and lightest materials you could ever use for your car. Hence the high price point.
