HELP with my INJEN CAI

Today i moved my injen CAI from CAI to Short ram by just removing the second tube that drops teh filter down. I searched and i was unable to come to a conclusion. I do not havea heat shield and we all know hot air = bad. I was wondering will i be doing harm to my engine , loosing power, or anything bad by moving from cai to short ram with out a heat sheild. If i can i would like to jsut purchsae a heat sheild because rainey season in florida is coming and my car is still very new only 2k miles on it. Would it be better to just buy a bypass valve and throw it back to CAI , Leave it as a short ram as is , or buy a heat sheild

the heat shield doesnt help much and will slow you from a launch.. i dont think you would notice it but once you are moving.. the flow of air will push out any hot air that would be sucked in by the filter... stillen has a great heat shield that would probably help more than any other heat shield ive seen
