HKS Hi-Power Exhaust Question

i just bought the HKS hi-power exhaust for my coupe 6MT and i was wondering if anybody knows the purpose of the two cans that connect to the rear mufflers (circled in picture)

im not a fan of that sound myself i dont run resonators on any of my cars or on my gixxer because i like to hear the pop on the overrun

so then you bought hks because? sorry, just trying to understand.

and resonators don't effectively affect performance so much as they do sound.

those resonators are there to help baffle the sound. any exhaust louder than 95dB is illegal in CA, and hks is already louder than that if i'm not mistaken (not by much). removing those resonators may cause a loud/raspy exhaust.

because i got it for 20% off because it was a return and had a few scratches on the center mufflers

Solution . . . Sell your HKS set-up and buy a new exhaust which you like.

^ good idea but too much hassle im just gonna cut them off and sell them on ebay

Way to go with the choice to hack up a $1400 exhaust to make it worse . Even with 20% off, you still spent right around $1k for it.
