Question about K & N Air Filters...

I ordered the K & N non-cartridge air filter (#KN332259) for the G from Pace Performance...now I see they also have a cartridge air-filter (# KN3320312). What's the difference between the 2 & did I get the wrong one?

Thanx

Re: Question about K & N Air Filters...

From what I've read, they both fit. I personally have #332031-2
because that's what is listed for 2003. But apparantly #332259 also fits. That particular p/n is for 2004.
Follow the instructions tho, because one of them, I've forgotten which one, needs you to have some foam spacers(supplied) to make the filter fit properly.

GSM,

I also have # 332031-2. It came with extra "stuff" you mentioned. I didn't use anything but the filter as it fit and sealed very well by itself.

Re: Question about K & N Air Filters...

DaveO, I believe the 33-2259 filter is slightly larger than the 33-2031-2, and doesn't need the foam spacers. Having said that, and after checking my install, I found that I didn't use the spacers either.
Maybe the original filter (with the spacers) also has another application that we're not aware of.

I'm not positive, but I thought I remember something about the 33-2031-2 also fitting the Max or something, which needed the spacers.

Re: Question about K & N Air Filters...

GSM, GordGee,

I got my # 33-2031-2 well before it was listed for the G35 Sedan. (The coupe was yet to come.) I believe the extra "stuff" is used for the Altima and/or Maxima application.

Way back when, I believe someone compared the two filters and found a small difference in thickness. The bottom line is they both will fit the G35 Sedan and Coupe without a problem.

Yeah, I put mine in Mar/03. Maybe that's where I heard that it was the Max app. When did it list for the G? Just shortly before that if I remember correctly (or not, old brain cells)
