Aftermarket Exhaust and Dealer

I know I know, the dealer has to prove that the aftermarket part caused the problem. My question has anyone here been harassed by the dealer for their exhaust in getting warranty work done? I've got a Y pipe now but thinking about doing a true dual. I know they have to prove it but if its going to be that much of a hassle with the dealer I don't think I'd want to get the dual then.

I don't have a problem with my FI exhaust. They like to hear me come in.

get it and call it a day...i see no reason for them to hassle you about it unless it's an exhaust related problem.

Goodluck to you, my friend got an Eclispe and got his exhaust done. Went in for some engine issue (not major), they void his warranty. I'm done with warranty now, so no worried.

RebelinRI ... They may like to hear ur exhaust when you come in, but were you in for complaints or oil change?

Complaint!!!!!! Engine was idling too high. They adjusted my TB and told me that with my mod's (spacer, exhaust and intake) I'm idling pretty good. They couldn't see the MREV2 but it was really my bad for the idle issue. I missed a vacuum hose. DOH! Besides, read the Mossy something er other act, as long as you're not adding to the original state (adding a turbo) you should not be at fault. It's up to the dealer to prove it was the aftermarket part that caused the failure. So unless they sold your buddy a car without an exhaust, he will be good. Read it, it's a good read. Know your rights!!!

Oh wow I do suprise that ur dealer ok with that. Probably my friend's Mit. dealer is a$$ ... I guess depends on the service guys too, used to have an A service guy and gave me all kinda of reasons just to take my $$$ (cuz i was under warranty, so kinda had to, now has my friend's uncle as a good mech.), but there were time when I came with dif. service guy and he gave some free deals and even tried to polish my rims for me while I was there.
