3 Mods. Big Difference?

Well Im new here to the forum. Just bought a 2006 6MT. It has 1500 miles on it right now. I needed more power! So today I bought some mods to wake this car up a little. Anyone that has experience with these three mods alone done to there car, please chime in. I will be installing all three on Friday the 18th. I cant wait to feel the difference. I will update everyone on how the install goes and what I felt on the butt dyno.

Motordyne MREV2
Motordyne 5/16 Iso Thermal Kit
Stillen Cold Air Box With Z Tube

Any feedback would be great on personal experience with these mods. Also, whats should I do next?
Thanx, Dave

Generally depends on your goal, but if you need more power I would first upgrade brakes and suspension...

Generally the main idea is to give more air and burn more gas so here you go - turbo, headers, chips, exhaust. Some extreme individuals even bore their cylinders to increase displacement.

I have only installed my 5/16 spacer, and that alone gave me a big smile on my face.

As far as the MREV2 goes, its suppose to compliment the 5/16 spacer very well on our rev-ups. I can't wait for that too.

Trust me, your going to love your car when reving past 3.5k

As far as NA goes, those 2 mods are the best bang for the buck.

I have a Stillen CAI which I really like, but as far as power, it doesnt really do anything. It did make my car feel more responsive though, and it sounds sweet.

Goodluck!

Since you opened up the front end you'll need to open it up out back. Look into a good catback system for it. I have FI's (Fast Intensions) catback and love it. By the way bolt on's won't give you more than 25-30hp max. probably. If you want more, you'll need to FI. Happy Modding. Oh yeah, there are no "Chips" for our cars. Piggy's and re flashes for most.

Thanx for all the info guys! You have been very helpfull. Any idea when the COBB Accessport will be available for the G? I used to run a Subaru dyno shop and tuned many STIs and WRXs on COBBs Protuner. I am looking into a full exhaust right now. I want the most power possible but not too loud. the FI catback looks to be the one so far. I just checked out there site for the first time. Great product and i like the option to go with the high flow cats ot test pipes. Any personal experience with this exhaust with th etest pipes installed? Im checking the sound clips they have now. Thanx again guys.

If you want to stay n/a get the Central 20 3.9 final drive gears. I have these, the MREV2+Spacer and a z-tube...I am pretty happy with how the car performs.

Dave. I heard a rumble about summer or fall this year, most likely summer. What you think about UTEC? Ever tune on these?

I have tuned 1 350Z and 2 G35s on UTEC. I acually got trained three years ago by Nathan at Turbo XS. He came to my shop for three days of extensive UTEC training. The gains on the Z & G where not as much as Im used to on Subarus. But again they are two totaly different beasts. The one car I can recall tuning last year was a Procharged G35. I think it was a 05. We neted around 350HP at the wheels with the kit and UTEC. I cant recall how much boost. I want to say 8 PSI but Im not sure. My roomate runs COBB on his STI. And we have the street tuner here to tune the parameters. Hopefully we can use it on the G Accessport as well. This is a very friendly forum. Thanx for all the info. I have been using the search button alot. This is a totaly different car to learn for me.

Thats what Im affraid of! My last STI was 475 @ the wheels on a GT30. The STI before that was 515 with a GT35. Then a SR20DET 240 with 415 with a GT2871. I can just imagine what is in store for me with this car. Im good friends with Darryl at Ultimate Racing, so maybe Ill look into their Twin Turbo kit. 460 @ the wheels would be nice.
