this is my first post and hello to all the g35 guru's. i have a problem: after installing the stillen intake with z tube, my car doesn't start right. the first time i started the car after installation it was fine. the sound was nice with the new exhuast. but after i took it for a drive and got gas, that is when i started to notice something wrong. i turned the car on but seconds later the car just died out, unless i gas it a little.
i searched and couldn't find anyone with my particular problem. the closest was a guy who had problems stalling after installing the intake.
i checked all connections. my guess is maybe the sensor or i need to reset the ecu. what can be the problem.
calling help from the guru's!

oh i have 2004 g35 sedan auto

Reset the ECU and then clean your MAF sensor...Could be too much oil on the filter and it mess up the sensor...Use a electronic cleaner from the Auto store...remove Maf sensor and clean it and then let it dry and try it again...I've read where the Stillen air box had a little too much oil on the filter...try that...

I would make sure the hose going from the Z tube to the back of the valve cover is still on. If that's off the car will not be happy.

Next make sure the MAS is on right and pluged in and then re-check everything and clean the MAS.

check and see if your MAF sensor is backward.

hey guru's

I still got a problem. I rechecked all connections, made sure screws and bots were tight, MAS was clean so no need to clean and I reset the ECU by overnight battery disconnect. the initial startup was fine. I noticed a big difference while driving (drove about 8 miles). got home and then restarted the car. but it did it again. it did not start properly. it died again. why???

please help guru's.

in the mornings the intial startup is fine. after that is when i get problems starting up. i start the car and it "spudders and dies", unless i give it a little gas.
there is a whistling sound but from what i read thats the intake. could it be a air leak then? i made sure everything was tight.

Stillen install
Sounds like you have a vacuum leak. That's the sound you are hearing.

Sounds like once it gets warm something is expanding just enough to give it the leak.
