Z-tube and Stillen CAI

Wife got me the z-tube and stillen CAI for x-mas. We just installed it today and it feels great.

Got 3 questions:
1) I neglected the bolt the holdes down the box. Should I go through the hassel of removing everything to get this bolt in or will going without it cause problems?

2) I've been told that I should clean the filter every 5k or so (depending on my driving). Is that true? If so, how do I do that and when I clean it, wont it be a pain to remove the a/c bolt that I forgot in the first place?

3) What can be done with the parts that I removed? Garbage or resellable?

TIA

1) I would put the bolt in. You can get better access to the bolt by opening the plastic liner from the wheel well on the drivers side.

2) K&N filters last long. When it looks dirty it actually helps filter out more dirt then a brand new filter. I usually check the condition every 15-20k.

3) Keep EVERYTHING, you might need it one day.

Hey marvinclt
If you dont mind, how much did this mod cost you? Im considering doing the mod at the end of the month. I also heard that it makes the engine sound more agressive at higher RPM ranges. Is this true for your setup?

thanks!

Re: Z-tube and Stillen CAI

The tube was 85 tax and shipping and the CAI cost 250. Both products were bough form recommended site on here. The entire install took less than 1.5 hours....only because i'm a novice and it took me a while to figure out what everything was. The install is VERY easy except for the bolt that holds the box down. There is a thread on this...just do the search.

As for the sound....man, it sounds awsome. Around 3500 it really roars and it makes ppl look. Had a Civic race me down the freeway because he thought I was reving to egg him on...needless to say we ended up going about 115 before I realized I might go to jail if i get busted....this civic knew it had no chance.

Free free to IM if you want more details...yahoo: carmaboy.
