HKS Legamax Exhaust for Coupe
Re: HKS Legamax Exhaust for Coupe
Mike Lee from RevHigh says he should be getting the HKS in next week. It's not a sure thing. But whenver it comes in, I'm gonna get it. I haven't heard the Injen but from what Gabe says, I think the HKS would be quieter. I heard the Injen was pretty loud, although, shouldn't be too loud. I'm selling the Fujitsubo because I just don't like how it looks. The tips are a bit big for my tastes. Sound is awesome though, but I"m willing to sacrifice sound for looks. From looking at GAbe's dyno graph, I'd say the gains look pretty good and probably comparable to the Fujitsubo. AFter doing much research, I know that Fujitsubo has the largest piping and tips. Piping is 73mm (3") while the HKS and most other systems are 65mm(2.5"). So if you plan on getting Turbo, Fujitsubo would be perfect. And the sound on the Fujitsubo isn't that loud, it's a nice deep a lil bit louder than stock sound but no droning or anything annoying.

Re: HKS Legamax Exhaust for Coupe
Cruz, The Legamax will bolt up to the stock Y pipe. That being said I'm sure any aftermarket Y pipe will work with it since they bolt up just like the stock.
One another note, a peice of info I did not mention before is that all full stainless HKS systems have a four year warranty against manufacterers defect. Pretty impressive for them to stand befind the product for that long! I mean you can't drive off a cliff and say your exhaust is now bent and you need another, but if something where to ever go wrong withing reason they will replace it. And being that HKS has been around for over 35 years in Japan, and 25 years here, I don't think they are going anywhere. Hope that helps.

Also guys, I don't want to put my foot in my mouth, but I just can't see anyone complainig that this system is too loud. Only someone where nothing is going to make them happy would bitch I would say. And I would know, My Supra had a 3" down pipe with no cats to a 4" HKS Carbon Ti exhaust. That had some tone to say the least. The Legamax has a nice tuned sound but I don't think you are going to complain. You can always make the car louder with Y pipe and/or hi flow cats or headers I would think. given the HP increase form just a mid pipe back system I was pretty impressed by the HP incease vs loudness trade off, because there really is none.
