OK, i know this is going to sound nutz, but since alot of us like to do eye candy mods here goes.

Has anyone hung a "fake" muffler/pipes on the right side to make it look like duel exhaust on the sedan?

It would be hilarious in the winter when only one side is puffing away, but just curious if anyone has pics to see what it would look like.

I think a custom dual exhaust is possible. Someone done it before, but the mufflers hung too low and it looked pretty bad. I do think it's possible to make it look clean.

 

think that is because the rear bumper isn't cut out like the left side.

there were reasons Fast Intentions didn't make the exhaust true duel...can't remember what they were but they were in that monster thread.

 

The spare gets in the way... as far as I know, you would need to take the spare out and bang the spare compartment in to fit another muffler there. I think its worth it...

Edit: Plus a tow hitch is in the way...

 

I believe it is the evaporative canister that is in the way.

 

Seen it done to a Maxima but honestly it's not worth it we already have a true dual exhaust. Right?

 

This has been discussed before a few times. TunerDad has some picts on here of his, but I believe he has exhaust fumes coming out BOTH of them. Granted I think his is an '04, I don't think your '05 is different, other than your mid-pipe.

I'm a huge fan of dual exhaust myself, but it just didn't sit right w/ our sedan...IMHO....

 

We do not. The Y-pipe on our sedan brings the two into one...& then from there back, there's only one. True dual would be two independent runs from the cats all the way back to two independent rear mufflers.

 

The problem is the evap box on the other side. When I do my motor build we are going to do a custom dual 3" and move it so I can have the dual. It should be later this summer.

 

You can have a real dual exhaust if you want. But you just can't have it exit the back with a muffler/tips on each end.

 

They call that Stillen or Borla.

 

Just a thought, maybe do whatever they do for the coupe would work on the sedan and the parts would already be made. I don't know how each is set up, but thought it might make things easier. Just a thought.

 

It won't work. The muffler won't fit without cutting into the spare tire area.

I would say to cut up a 3" exhaust made for the coupe but it is cheaper to just make your own.
