Yes, reconnect the vacuum hose.

Have a G35 6mt 2005. My dealer said that having the z tube will most likely only cause damage to the mass air flow sensor if anything. They said they are relatively mod friendly, but if the MAF sensor goes bad to put the old tube back in and bring the car in because they will not replace the MAF under warranty with the z tube in there. They said the MAF's are known to be finicky and had received a whole shipment of bad ones from the supplier one time and the z-tube will possibly cause its demise. Is this BS? It seems like the INSTALL, not the operation of the z-tube is what would cause the damage (ie you knock it, break it, or rip the MAF sensor off). Has anyone had the z tube operation blow their MAF or cause problems in other parts of the engine? It seems counterintuitive as this and the 350z basically have the same engine that the z tube would cause damage to the g35 engine. Also, what is the best filter for the easiest install? K&N, stillen? Noob.

Another dealer told me this will really make your O2 sensor work, especially while your car is re-calibrating itself to run richer. How many have had trouble after installing this part CORRECTLY? Also, does this mod make your car burn more oil?

this mod is a tube without baffles. we have the same engine as the 350z. no reason why it would make your engine burn oil or mess anything up unless you F up royally and screw up the MAF. just be careful when removing it and you should have no problems.

IMO this is the easiest mod to do by yourself. if you can change your air filter then go ahead and do this mod. if you're not comfortable modding then have someone else do it.
