Question Ztube--warranty and warning lights

If I install a Ztube on my new '06 sedan, what are the chances:
1. It will screw with my factory warranty
2. It will generate some dashboard warning lights?

Please tell me I am free and clear

None. Unless you screw up the MAF.

What and where is the MAF sensor? Is it in the old tube? In the engine?

On the old tube...It's the only sensor connected on the old tube...Don't break it...

It is the sensor in the grayish hard plastic tube in front of the G tube you will be removing. You won't have any problems, just be careful with it. Also be sure you reconnect the one vacuum hose (or whatever it is) that connects to the z tube and you will good to go.

No problems here either. I followed a DIY from g-owners.com (check out Google cache).

When I called local Nissan dealer (two of them actually) and asked them the price of a z-tube (yes, I broke it down for them from the everything g35 sight definition) they had no idea when the hell I was talking about!!!! Both places kept saying "you want a cold air intake right?!" They kept saying, "but you have a G35." Uhhhhh....Yeah... What a bunch of

By the way, I have less then 5000 miles, do I need to replace that vacuum hose?

Here is the link to the installation instructions I intend to use. Now I have checked and added oil to a car b4. My noobishness is showing

If you follow these instructions you should not have any problems installing your Z-tube. Its a fairly simple mod and a good place for a noob to start. There is no need to replace the vacuum hose.

My post was misleading, I should have said "reconnect" not "replace." I have heard of people forgetting to reconnect the hose and it causing problems.

Sorry for the confusion.

If you are afraid of installing a Z tube please take your car to someone for the install.

Noooooooooo, it's super easy. Great way to break the ice. Take it from someone is very hesitant to take things apart in my car under the hood.

The Z-tube install is about as easy as it gets - if you don't want to tackle this one you better stick to water based paints and roller.

This may be why we're here.........

Definate noob post, but you gotta start somewhere. How much trouble could
he get into with one screwdriver or two? I think I was maybe 8 when I
would help my Dad work on his cars......and I've got pic of my son laying
under one of my cars when he was 3 a rag in one hand and an wrench in
the other.....just for the pic of course but funny.
