gurgen, that's some nice work that looks fine as-is. if you want to perfect the looks in the back, I can see a polished steel faceplate over the rear tips providing a nice single mulffler/dual tip exhaust finish.

what was the whp gain and did you re-tune your turbos immediately on installation?

btw, i'm getting my 5AT built rather than doing the transform to 6mt like you did - hope it's not money down the drain, but we'll see. (Sam at GT is doing it!!!)
That's what Clint suggested too, on teh plate. I will definitely think about it.

Good luck on the tranny build, Sam is the man!

Sam will be retunign my car tomorrow. I can't wait to get more power. I hoep to make a video of the car with the the new exhaust and tune...will post it here when done..

New pics of the car comign later today. See you guys.

Three inch exhaust.........

With what you have under the hood you're probably one of the few that
actually "Needed" a 3" exhaust and a damn nice design tooooo!
If you decide you need a better sound try this ccoffin@magnaflow.com.

Nice setup. I'm possibly looking at getting a sedan soon. So I take it this is not California legal?

Nice set-up. What kind of lip spoiler is that on the trunk? It's one of the cleanest I've seen.

So does the rear bumper skirt like the Nismo cover the existing factory skirt on there or would you have to remove it and replace it with the new one?

Great! I looked into the magnaflow parts originally, and wanted a dual in dual out 3" WITHOUT an X-pipe. Magnaflow does not make one of those unfortunately, and will not do a one-off unless it's for the sema show vehicles. Too bad.

If you can find a way to make one without an X-pipe, I'd love to discuss it further. Ideal would be a fairly large oval (in the neighborhood of 8x14 x-section and 18" long) with slightly offset outlets/inlets.

Much thanks, MagnaflowRep. Please chime in and let me know what you think.

Dunglan

What you see now is just the painted lower valence, the Nismo is not installed yt, it's in my garage. That one i will cut with much greatr care, and isntall over the bumper; it will cover the existing cutout.

Thanks! It's an ebay buy actually... made out of had rubber like many aftermarket lips.... does look good but perhaps a tad too small... i still like it a lot...understated.

You need to use a lot of flex in the paint to keep it on the material. So far, it's working out well.

Sorry for not posting pictures yet...at GTMotorsports as we speak getting raedy to dynotune the car...hoping for some gains!!! Will post once finished.

OK guys....we had a late night tunign session with Sam at GTMotorsports. Sam is a freaking genius...that's all i gotta say. His methodology is second to none that I have seen, and I have seen pretty much everyone tune in california... He is light years ahead of everyone...

Anyway... the car essentially made 40 hp more on the top end. Torque number remained the same. When i say 40 hp more, i mean the hp curve smoothly rises to a higher level and peaks later than it did before, with no change in timing (essentially).

This is pretty much what i expected. My numbers before were 420hp/458trq, now they are 460/460. In the midrange, the dual 2.5"/X pipe stillen was flowing enough not to cause a restriction, but on the top end, with the flow doubling (comapring 3500 and 7000rpm) , it could not keep up, hence the gain with this exhaust. So, 40hp gain!!

The bad news is that we really could not push the car any further without retarding the timing considerably on 91 octane. Two possible reasons for this.... either too small an intercooler and/or the turbos are too small. It is also possible that the higher 9:1 compression is just not helping the setup given these two reasons. So, we added a little C12, and were able to push the car to 490/490 at 13.5 psi...

I am a good a good candiadte for water injection at this point... that will be the next mod.

Will post dynos soon.

Well done Gurgen, I am heading to Sams this Friday to drop my car off, hoping to get close to 450 with a few little adds on but nothing major. Good luck with the methanol or water injection system.
