HELP...OPINIONS...FI intimidator exhaust installed
To my knowledge
Header + HFC/TP + any exhaust = drone/loud
When any exhaust design they did it with stock setup in mind, and when you added stuff to it. it will sound different. It may sound good to some but not to other...

anyone else with the same combo, Cats + Headers + FI Intimidator Exhaust have the same problems? Even FI Intimidator + HFCs....let's see a show of hands and who's having problems.

FI metal cats + FI exhaust was louder than I expected also, but not too loud (my car is well padded with dynamat though). Just deeper and meaner. I do get drone around 1800 rpms but I usually just rev about that in MM mode (5AT here). The sound at high rpm is much more exhilirating than I anticipated.
I've got some turbos going on so we'll see how well this thing sounds and flows with twins... (they should help silence the exhaust tone)

I have the Intimidator and an AT. Since the beginning I have talked to Tony about the drone inside the cabin. It was intolerable in the beginning but now, I'm a little more used to it. My friends complain about the noise inside my car all the time....
I was contemplating getting the HFC but I am really worried that it will just increase the drone inside my cabin.
Currently, I only have the exhaust - no headers and no cats.
Tony was more than willing to help me out but, as Rick says, AT's usually have this drone with aftermarket exhausts.

Also, all, give Tony a call...see what he says.

Update:
This morning I wanted to test something. I made two copper exhaust gaskets; I made the pipe hole a little smaller than the gasket size and placed them after the cats. This of course chokes the flow a bit. I started the car and it was quiet, I mean quiet. Sounded stock. The LOW rumble was there but it sounds stock. Drove around and the car drives great, side roads and parkways.
OK...so...here we go…
Clearly this copper gasket is negating all the modifications I have done to the exhaust, but I just wanted to test if the car would run ok with a slightly reduced exhaust flow and it does.
I love the low rumble of this FI exhaust; I love the build, the look, the quality. Everything but the 24 x7 day a week LOUD rumble when I drive.
I will want this loud rumble sometimes. Sometimes I will want my car to sound like it will eat small animals and anything else in its path. At the same time, on my daily commute of 30 miles, I don’t want the drone, and tooth filling removing rattle.
My solution:
Instead of ripping out the exhaust & selling it, installed whatever else…etc. ($$) I’m going to purchase 2 electronically controlled exhaust gates off eBay. They seem very well made and the folks on the Supra and Mustang forums love them. I wasn’t expecting to spend any more money, but I’d rather keep my setup and just regulate the exhaust note when I want. I think this solution will work well and I’ll update everyone on the progress. I’m open to all opinions good and bad.
Thanks

I noticed the same drone and vibration with my Borla TD. The rest of the exhaust was completely stock. The drone was obviously caused by the larger piping diameter and higher flowing muffler/resonators, but a majority of the vibration was caused by the lack of flex sections in the y-pipe. Nissan puts flex sections in the stock exhaust for a reason.....to reduce NVH. I know the FI system doesn't use flex sections nor does Borla, Stillen, and most others. I think HKS is the only one that was smart enough to incorporate flex sections into their design. You may want to consider having a shop install some 2.5" flex sections into the y-pipe while you're getting the other work done.
