I got mine for cheaper than you can get the z-tube and pop charger combo. IN my opinion, it is worth it if you get it used for around 100-150. The sound is amazing on it. I don't think anyone can really notice 5-6 hp difference imo.

But the sound is the biggest thing. It sounds normal when the car is idleing and just cruising, but when ou punch it thats where it unlocks the magic. I didn't tell my wife that I put it on, and when I punched for the first she was like, "HOLY CRAP THAT SOUNDS BAD A$$". My wife doesn't care much about cars at all, but see like certain things about them.

i love the sound but lately ive been hearing that its a power loss to go fully cold air(where air filter is in bumper). i go to the track alot so im going to take out the longer section and run it like a short ram and see if it helps at all..

btw you can hear my cold air all the time even over my greddy exhaust... just got a spacer to so cant wait to hear that too.

at 3500 rpms on when you floor it. If you do average accel., you wont hear it because the rate of air is less due to the throttle body valve not being opened all the way. When you floor it the that valve opens up almost 100% and thats when you get your sound.

As far as power, maybe, there is definitly not a loss. As I said before I dont think you can feel the difference in 1-5hp. I think it is around 10-15hp change that you can feel, which you are not going to get from any air intake.

As far as sound inside and out? You definitly hear the difference inside and out when you are flooring. Inside the car, the sound increase is probably twice as loud from the engine bay as on a stock air box. Outside, is a lot louder than stock maybe even 3 times louder. I'll see if I can find something that can measure decibles. My buddy has a 350 with stock air box, so we can can compare that way. Ill have to find that decible meter first though.

as I said before I notice 0 power loss. possible gain but close to the same power output as stock. I stongly feel that no one can actually notice a power change of 1-5 hp with out computer measurements. I have an 04 non-rev engine though. That may make a slight difference.

The loss in hp is not enough for you to feel. I don't think you would lose more than a few hp from using that intake.

this is confusing as ****, isnt the point of a cold air intake to put more cold air in the engine to get more power? why would u lose a few hp?

Maybe you lost some torque and gained a little high end HP? I got the z-tube w/pop charger. Maybe too much air coming in not enough going out? Our stock exhaust are restrictive ( cats ). Maybe open it up a little with spacer, cats then tune it up?

In many cases, you will lose a little low end and gain a little top end. not enough for you to notice though. If you do a bit more searching you will see that cai's have a tendency to lose a few hp's, but people like them because they sound great and you really can't feel the power loss.

Torque = low end, Hp = High end , You will feel a loss in torque and gain a few horses for high speeds.... Better?
