Y PIPE??? Is it worth it???
Just wondering if a Y-Pipe is really worth it or not? Im looking at the intense motorsports y pipe for $135 shipped.
i have kinetix V+ plenum, megan resonated test pipes, jwt popcharger, z-tube, and UR Crank pulley.
Im lookin at only that y-pipe and i talked to the guys at intense and they said its a bigger diameter and will free flow better. with my mods is this ypipe really going to make the exhaust noticably louder? cuz i know it wont be a big HP gain, but id like the stock exhaust to be louder if the y-pipe can do it?
thanks

The stock Y-Pipe is one of the most restricted areas in your exhaust so yes you will benefit from replacing it with an aftermarket one. Thats the beauty of many cat-back exhausts like the Nismo one, it comes with a new Y-pipe.

You will get rasp! Don't get just a y-pipe, get the whole system y-pipe back. If you're on a budget get the Xo2 HKS clone. I went and got a JIC y-pipe one of the best designed imo and I wish I didn't. I get a lot of rasp and noises from the difference in air flow, 3in outlet into the stock 2.5. also I think I lost low end punch. Do it right the first time
