I just installed the pop-charger/z-tube combo on my car a few days ago. Its not as loud as I was expecting based on all the posts I read on this site. It sounds a little louder then stock and I do get the whistle sound during acceleration but I was expecting more "grunt" from this. I used to have an Altima SE-R with a BERK intake and that was definitley noticable. Is it possible that I did something wrong during the install? Also, when you remove the stock air box, do you have to remove the little piece that stays bolted to the frame with the hole on top? Its the piece that is way down there and it's a bi**h getting the wrench in there. Thanks!

 

well i think you can remove that piece you are talking about and yes it is a pain to get it out. You dont have to remove it though. For the noise i just have a ztube right now and i hear a nice sound difference past 4k rpm i am hoping to get the popcharger really soon and hoping it will make it even louder than it is with just the ztube. I dont know what to tell you though if your not happy with it

 

i have both the z-tube and the pop charger and man o man people say i sound like an indy car when i pass bye!!!

hahahaha yeah i dont know about the indy car thing either. its just a joke we have going around work. I havent heard my car from the outside. I think I need to have someone drive past me at WOT!!!

z-tube with stock intake box works the same IMO

 

be thankful you guys can even hear your intakes still.

your expectations were probably too high.

Your right it might work the same but it makes a sick noise when the combo ztube/popcharger is together

 

My Z-Tube/Pop Charger has been sitting in my garage for a while now. I am painting all the parts semi-gloss (matte) black. I dislike the look of the gold.
