Review, StrupTest pipes....

I thought i would share my experience with everyone and hope you guys choose your test pipes wisely. I installed my strup test pipes last week with only 800km on my 07, i started to hear a rattle coming from under my car at certain rpms, the best way to describe it would be the sound of a rattle snake. After going to dealership and a reputable mechanic, they both told me that the cause is most likely the test pipes. When the test pipes are bolted on to the y pipe, the design of the strup tps apparently stretches the y pipe outwards and causing the inside to break down.

Besides the design, i have also noticed that the two 02 holes are the not aligned properly, one of the 02 sensor was slanted downward making it very vulnerable when you go over bumps.

I replaced my tps today with fast intentions resonated tps, and what a difference in quality and sound. It complement the stock exhaust perfectly, i will post a video when i get a chance.

Hey were the Strup resonated? I have to buy another pair of test pipes so I need to make a choice..

The same thing happened to me, I had some resonated test pipes which gave me no problems for a long time but when I installed an aftermarket y-pipe they didn't work well together and the welds cracks on both a coupe of times.

Question: Do you think an H-pipe will be less stress and less prone to craking?

i had the test pipes, i don't think strup make resonated test pipes. If the stock y pipes worked for you, maybe you should just stick with your stock. I am not sure about the h-pipe.

i never had any issues w/ the stock Y pipe and test pipes-- i know whoever installs it and they bend the y-pipe the wrong way it will crack it beforehand

This may be a stupid question, If you have test pipes on your car instead of stock cats or HFC's would you fail state inspection?? I know some states use sniffers to test emmissions.

So either you replaced your Y-pipe or the dealer was lying. I would assume they were lying, but let me know.
