cosworth heads

has anyone on this forum used these cosworth heads and if so what was the results with performance (were they worth the money), apart from the 10.5k revs what else did they give you ??.

Thats good to hear as i am waiting for the cosworth plenum to be released which by all accounts is going to perform and look great, i thought together they would work really well even more so as i will be fi. Even though i went the APS TT route i dont like the look of the APS tallboy

I have a feeling these valve heads could apear on the new GTR which cosworth have been involved in designing.

Holy crap, those are insanely expensive!! 10.5K rev-capable heads doesn't really seem like it would matter on this motor, I would think. I doubt very much that the bottom end of the VQ35DE would even stand up to 8500 Revs reliably(maybe the VQ35HR would). We'd probably throw rods left and right spinning that fast.

I think the only people that would probably get these heads are those who are willing to go all-out and break the bank on building a completely insane motor regardless of the cost. You figure after throwing a set of elite Cams into the mix we've gone and spent a good $6000 on parts alone just for top end parts and then maybe $7000+ total for installation and dyno time. Plus the car would also need to have a complete high flow exhaust and intake setup to go along with this to really make use of the gains that the high flow heads would give and when it's all said and done, might have a 300 WHP car.

They sound like a great aftermarket part, but it's too damn expensive and most people will probably rather spend that kind of money on going with some sort of forced induction setup since it yields a lot more power.

Yeah i fully understand but to me it has been an ambition to build my car to achieve 500 hp safely. I have the APS TT being fitted as we speak along with a complete cosworth bottom end including the 'H' bar rods, pistons, studs, gaskets etc etc. Also having the HKS Fcon management system installed, Its a lot of money however i have no other expensive hobbies i dont drink or smoke and at 45 dont go out clubbing . Two of my four kids have left home with the other two close behind so you gotta have something in life right ? At 5 english pounds for a pack of smokes ($9) and £3 for a pint ($5) i think over the next three years my hobby could work out cheaper

The fella at the place im getting my car done at is trying to get me to have these fitted in the spring next year so i thought i would try getting some feed back.

I like you mentality and if you get these I cant wait to see some dyno sheets on what they do. They are cnc machined so they are going to be top notch quality I cant imagine a 10k redline omg

I am making a cd of the build which i will put on youtube when its done so i will post it on here.
I have a couple of suprises you might or might not like but i will wait till its complete. I have booked it for 4 runs at Santa pod raceway over here on 12th of August which is a 1/4 mile drag strip over here, which i will video, i will get a good idea of split times etc.(only running about 450 hp till other upgrades in the spring next year ie, transmission, torque convertor, diff etc.

If your interested heres a link to the place thats building my car, it has a live dyno room web cam and you may see my car being done towards the end of the week. They also have some insane cars there being worked on at the moment including a Lambo, a 650hp supra and a 600hp scooby.(all road worthy)

http://www.tdi-plc.com/

I will be getting exact torque readings as opposed to calculated readings because they have a 'Rototest dyno' machine there that bolts to the hub, i believe people like mcclaren, shell and cosworth use this machine.

Sounds like you have a pretty sweet setup planned. I'd love to see a video fo the finished product when you get there on youtube.
