Z-Tube owners...

It seems as if I'm the only one who uses an OEM filter (rather than a K&N) with the z-tube. Are there any other people out there doing this?

nope! why not just replace your stock filter with a better performing one? if you don't like k&n, try the amsoil filter. nano fiber and it doesn't use oil.

Nanofilter is a good way to go.. even Fram came out with a nanofilter.
not sure I would use that one though.
AEM makes a polyfiber filter in a cone only (fits Stillen CAI, etc.).
None of these need oiling. Just washing or blowing out with low shop air.

I haven't been able to find the conclusive part number... do you know it?... I've been considering that filter but last I read no one really knew the correct size/part number...

a few do... there have been some real world tests... Nissan Sport Mag did a brief write up, and I think more testing is being conducted... Most that go with Z-Tube use a cone filter though...

if you know the part number for the filter you currently have, you can input it here to cross reference it with the amsoil one

I figured that there was not a noticeable performance gain to justify buying a $40 filter. $8 every 15K isn't such a bad deal, considering that a brand new filter will be 100% clean.
