i've tried 2 different exhausts so far and have gone back to stock (fast intentions and greddy) because i wasn't satisfied with note. like you, i'm on a 'quest' to keep the native vq howl but louder. there are a lot of folks on here that know more than me so lets see what people say.

change out everything but the muffler. so headers, high flow cats/test pipes, y-pipe, mid pipe. when you remove resonators you have a change of getting rasp.

sounds like you didnt give the F/I time to season. I have mine with
4k on it and love the tone! Then the HFC's even made it better

Welcome to the 'Driver boards, kirmy31.

One of the best ways to evaluate and answer your query would be to meet up with some local enthusiasts, whom have already installed certain applications/mods to their cars. This will afford you a real world experience and allow you to determine for yourself what may or may not be suitable for you.

I was quite fortunate, myself. There were many friendly local members in my area, whom afforded me the opportunity to examine their vehicles. Those courtesies proved to be quite productive for me when I started to mod my own vehicle.

^+1 on stillen, sounds exactly the same as stock, but just slightly louder and with more goooooooooo. sounds even better when combined with headers, but don't run stillen exhaust with headers and racepipes if you don't like a really raspy WOT sound . . .
