Thumbs up 35$ chrome z-tube install

just installed a new intake pipe from throttle body to mass air flow out of a chrome 3" exhaust tip. first i cut both ends of the exhaut tip off so it was just a straight pipe. cut to length and then installed it. just need to drill a hole and install an elbow into the chrome pipe for the pcv valve tube that is connected to the stock intake tube. for now just put a piece of hose inside the pcv valve tube and ran it to the intake nipple on the front of the intake. just cut off the end of the vacuum plug and slid the hose over the plug. looks great. inexpensive and adds horespower!!! what more could you ask for. will send pictures when camera gets its batteries charged.

Regarding power: I wouldn't state this unless you have sufficient proof to back this statement up. The idea of having a chrome Z-Tube is not something that intrigues me; wouldn't heat transfer be greater on that chrome piece of metal than in the OEM plastic tube? The engine bay gets REALLY hot during normal and hard driving... metal just seems too conductive to heat for that application.

(I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me)

Kudos for your effort though

finally got my batteries

here are the pictures i promised. i agree that during long periods of driving it will heat up much more then plastic will; but it will also cool much quicker at the track with an ice bag then the plastic one will. the ingen cold air intake is made out of metal and they charge you an arm and a leg.

Just wondered, what did you use for the new 'elbow' for the PVC tube, and how did you attach/seal it?
