Question HKS HiPower Exhaust vs. Topspeed Pro1

Which is better? I have heard that both are loud as hell, with the Pro1 being obnoxious...but the price differences are way different.

The HKS HiPower is around ~$1300 - $1500 + shipping, and the Pro1 is around $500 + shipping.

Are both dependable? If they sound the same, I would rather go with the Pro1 because of the price, but if it is not dependable like HKS than I would rather go with something like that. You know how the saying goes, you pay what you get for. Are HKS exhaust expensive because you are paying for the name, or because of its quality and construction?

Which should I get? Price vs. value!

better? that's completely subjective.

if you think the pro1 sounds obnoxious, then don't cut yourself short and stick with the HKS. just save up...it's worth it to be happy. it's about 125-1350 shipped.

i think the topspeed pro1 sounds badass, but the price makes me wonder if it's good quality, or just some knockoff...

since when did badass = obnoxious?

i doubt either will fail you (as in fall apart, cause damage, etc).

although fastgkid (or something like that) got the pro1 and it burnt his bumper...lol

baylorsig,

I listened to 3 or 4 other exhaust set-ups, in person, prior to getting the HKS. Unfortunately, non of the others were the Topspeed Pro1. So, I cannot comment on the said. However, I can tell you that after some 15k miles, I am still quite pleased with my choice. Some people have had alignment issues with the HKS, but I have had none, which is probably due in part to the fact that I performed the installation in lieu of a shop guy attempting to make some time.

If possible, your best bet would be to listen to the 2 set-ups in person prior to making a buying decision. As you have commented, there is quite a difference is cost between the two. If your decision will be budget based . . . Well, you have only 1 option.

In any event, I trust that you enjoy whichever exhaust system that you decide upon.

haha ya +1. dont make the mistake i did and get the 350z topspeed pro-1. its the same as g35 except for the g35 there is an extension pipe to extend the tips out from under the rear bumper. mine began to melt away the underpart of the rear bumper but has finally stopped due to this cooler weather were getting here in MO. but ya both exhaust are awesome i know with the HKS you get a power gain i'm not sure with the Topspeed. TP can be annoying at times but its well worth the headache. much louder than HKS just not as good looking. if u want loud go with Pro-1 for not as loud go with HKS.

Top Speed has nothing but QUALITY parts. They make SEVERAL VQ parts that are top notch in my book.

oh man, i had top speed pro 1, it's freaking loud, got complaints everyday with my friends, apt. manager, people drive beside me with the window down. believe, it's awesome sounding exhaust. not much of hp gain exhaust, but sure can catch people's attention....in good and bad ways. i had to weld extend hanger to let the exhaust clear the bumper in order to save my bumper from melting. you can hear the exhaust 5 blocks away over 3k rpm ( IMO, it sounded like a ferrari or lambo ). if i were ever going turbo, would for sure get this 3'' piping bad *** again! i have a video, didn't go over 3k rpm tho...but if you wanna get an idea, let me know
good luck on your decision!

no the exhaust doesn't come with y pipe, however, you can purchase top speed y pipe, heard some good things about them. or you can just run with your stock y pipe like i did.

You want to get the Top Speed Pro N1 exhaust, not the Pro 1 like fast G kid. That is more so for the 350Z.

I am still contemplating getting the Pro N1 or FI. After hearing the Pro N1 on the street, I was fascinated.

There is no such thing as the Pro-N1. I had the Top Speed prototype on my car like 3-4 years ago. It just got mislabeled by a 350Z owner who took video of his car after I installed one on his car.
