do you have any other mods (ie. an exhaust)? or are you parked inside a a garage?

just wondering cuz I sorta hear some kinda echo-y sound.

thats a pretty keen ear you've got Fluff. It's in the garage and the only mod that would effect the sound is the z-tube.

 

I only have the Z-tube installed and I get that same sound over 3-4K RPM.

I opted to not install the Popcharger as I think the sound and gains are mainly from the Z-tube mod.

I agree, I think the z tube is the primary reason for the sound and hp (if any) gains. I'm waiting on the popcharger until I see a dyno proving the gain in hp.

If you go to jim wolf technology's website, you'll see the dyno they did there with the popcharger..claiming i believe 6 ponies.....as for the sound..i got both..and the popcharger gives it an UNBELIEVABLE rumble..i feel like the whole cabin in the car is open to the hood. Absolutely incredible.

I'll take a different sound bite from in front of the car, hood closed and open, that should take care of the perception that the sound can be confused with just a z-tube. I did the two mods at different times and could tell a HUGE change in sound once the pop charger was added.

 

U have the same pop-charger/z-tube combo. Mine actually whistles a little bit when you first get on it, like a turbo. Anyone else get that from their pop-charger?

to answer the other guy's question: yes, it's common to have a whistling sound at certain rpms. but you should probably check that everything is tight anyways cuz some people don't get the whistling.

 

I installed my Pop-Charger/Z tube last weekend and tried to record the sound before and after. The tape in the machine was f'd up and the 'before' sound was too garbled to use. The after sound was bad IMO, but I'll post it it I can clean it up some. BTW, the best roar coming from the Pop-Charger/tube is when the car is under load...i.e. moving along at a good clip and then flooring it, with the tach above 4K it really lets out a good GROWLLLL !!! Sometimes I drive like a bigger A-hole just to hear it rip!! I also took some pics of the install process to go along with the ones posted on Performancenissanparts.com. I was on another thread talking about doing a mod for an air tube coming from the lower grill to give the Pop-Charger something cool to breathe.

Some people just don't know how to drive......
