Loud exhaust..

Sup everyone. I have a coupe with crawford plenum, pop charger, and test pipes. I had the Apexi N1 exhaust and it sounded real nice and loud but I've had a lot of people tell me that I can gain more HP with a true duel so I sold it and lookin for something new. Which exhaust would be a loud and HP gain exhaust? As I said, I like loud... Drone or no drone, it doesn't matter. Just want a loud exhaust with gains. Don't say HKS cause i heard it with test pipes and it sounded like crap...heard stillin is pretty quiet...I see people recommend the Top speed pro for sound but how is the gains? expecially if i want to go FI later....

K, but how does the Injen Track Edition sound like with the test pipes? Like I said, the HKS sounded like crap. Anyone have any sound clips? Also, where could I get this exhaust the cheapest?

OK - for sound - it's all subjective - what sounds like crap to you, sounds great to someone else, and vice versa.

As far as performance on dual or single - if the single is 3" all the way back, you'll have the same flow as a 2 1/2" dual.

As far as being loud - 1 muffler, no resonators will do it, or if dual - 2 mufflers and no resonator. If you really want loud - so a single 3" system and add an 18" resonator only. Make sure it's a 3" resonator with a 4 1/2" casing.

Rick

EDIT: after that - you may want HFC's to cut the smell and give you some backpressure...you'll need the backpressure or you'll lose power up top and down low. It'll also kill some rasp, if not all of it.

It's a single with dual outlets, but if you want loud - Invidia N1.

Don't get me wrong, I like the way HKS sounds without the testpipes, but once on, it sounds like a cheap fart can. I don't like the way Invidia and Injen sound either but if I keep with a duel, it would be Injen Track Edition I guess.

I really like the way the Top Speed Pro sounds but if I'm not mistaken, it isn't a 3 inch. If I were to get a nice y pipe (which one though?) with it, would it gain nice HP close to a duel? And if not, what exhaust sounds close to the Top Speed Pro other then Apexi N1?

The only reason why I don't want to custom make my exhaust is because I don't want the Muffler I get to sound not even close to what i was looking for. That would be a big dissapointment and more money to spend. Nice exhaust though SAVEFATKIDS.

Everyone, please input.

Why don't you buy the system you want, and modify it? Keep the muffler and change a few things around.

umm..no. For a true dual, you need either 2 mufflers or a dual input/dual output muffler. If it's the Pro1 system - then yes. The mid pipe needs to be changed and routed as a true dual. the factory y-pipe would also go away.

It's a lot of work and expense though, as there are systems already out there that are similar.

Rick
