What is so awesome about spending all kinds of money for a noisemaker? Are there any gains with this or is it just sound?

OK - so everyone just relax...
Do some due diligence. If you check the Fast Intentions website, you'll see the dyno's of the system and some combinations.
There have also been many on this and the MY350 board that have had dyno's etc, some of which actually show more than we did on our dyno's.
So to answer the question - yes, you gain power. It's approximately 11 HP for the catback alone and with testpipes about 20-22. With HFCs roughly ~1-3 HP less.
This system has a torque dip - from about 2050 to 2200 RPM - that's all.
The bottom line is that there are really 3 true duals, that top the performance list - HKS, Stillen and Fast Intentions. All are within just a few HP and TQ of each other. When I say few - I mean less than 5. The choice to make is appearance and sound.

The exhaust itself does give you a little more push in the 4000-6500 rpm range. I did feel a very tiny loss of torque in the 1500-3000 RPM, but its nothing significant. I dyno & drag race my car consistently.
Don't turn this into a flame thread. Especially considering you have little-to-no experience with an aftermarket exhaust on the VQ35.

I got the FI exhaust recently, and haven't installed it yet. It looks like they are pretty well made and of high quality in my opinion. I can't wait til this weekend to install them.
I also got the z-tube and K&N filter, hopefully that will be nice combo for performance and sound.
Does anyone know how to regain the low end torque? Or how to get more low end power without going turbo or supercharger? Thanks!
