Rick, I think he just wants some more low-end power

I think I lost a little torque in the 1500-2500 RPM range, but nothing too significant. I was expecting this from a true-dual system. It definately has that extra ump to it in the 4500-6500 RPM range though.

KapVu, I highly recommend the MREV2 if you are rev-up. A tune would help too...

The problem is, for NA, gaining low-end power & torque is pretty hard and usually the gains are minimal. Mid-end & top-end is much easier for NA gains.

You can get by the bottom end with gears as well...3.7's or 3.91...

True, but in my case, I don't think shorter gears are conveniant for my DD. Especially considering I do 80% street/city driving. But, I can't speak for him.

As for the 6MT, I feel as if the gearing for 1st gear is already borderline: I can't imagine having to shift earlier

6MT's have a much easier time balancing low end...for AT's it's a must though...

Update 10/09/07 1.5K mi. on FI exhaust
Quote: Now I know why there are no negative comments or reviews in regards to this exhaust. I just had it installed & Holly Sh*T does it sound nice. Video clips do this exhaust no justice. It's quiet at idle [a little louder then stock]; But much louder when you are driving it. Around 2-3K RPM the exhaust sounds so mean. Nice and deep with no RASP. At WOT all I can say is wow. The fitment was perfect and welds/ bends are nothing but. Another G35 member hit the sound right on the head " sounds like a G35 on steroids". Just so you know, I am a very picky individual & so far I have nothing bad to say. GO FAST INTENSION!!! from Dave

This exhaust has gotten ALLOT louder within the last 1.5K miles. Even my GF noticed the difference. I guess it has started to season. At first, I wanted to upgrade to FI 300C HFC's to achieve more sound. However; the note ie: DB has increased so much that now I am leaning away from this upgrade. For those of you who have ordered FI exhaust, give it 1.5-2K miles and you will be amazed at the change.. " I love it more with ever mi. i put on the car.

i know injen is the king of drone, but does FI have any in-cabin drone? Like cruising on the freeway or anywhere in the 2-3k rpm range?

The typical drone range of this exhaust is from 2050RPM to 2200 - just 150 RPM. Depending on your car, AT or MT, and other mods - it will respond differently, as all other exhausts do as well.

Read up on all the feedback though...there are TONS of reviews, etc.

hey AHERO do you recommend HFC or Test Pipes on the Fast Intension Exhaust. I have talked with a few people and I get mixed reviews on the HFC's. Then today I spoke with the owner of Motordyne (much respect to that man) and he said to go with Test Pipes without a doubt... NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.
"For the money and for the hp increase GO TEST PIPES," direct quote.

I see you post a lot on here possible cause you run this site but whats your input on HFC's and TP's?

Personally from what MOTORDYNE, I think his name is Tony, said I personally will be buying the test pipes and spacer tomorrow.

Sorry for hi jacking your thread.
