Help, friend tore his exhaust off his '07 G35
My friend that messed up his exhaust ordered the Stillen exhaust and the dealership was attempting to put it on. Now the dealership is saying the Cats and the exhaust manifolds are bent. Can anyone think of anything he can do. The dealership (on top of the stillen exhaust) says he has to get two new cats (900 each) and two new exhaust manifolds (500 each). What can he do? By what the dealership is saying, the G35 Sedan 2007 exhaust is worth ~7000 part for part. That is crazy! Thanks in advance
It seems that your friend is stuck with doing whatever Infiniti says he should do since he can't/won't take it anywhere else.
I would think that if he want fast enough to rip the exhaust off his car, there is a good likelyhood that the cats and exhaust manifolds are damaged too.
Have them check the suspension too. Going over a speed bump that fast could have caused damage there too.

Just let dealer to swap out exhaust only, not cats and exhaust manifold
Bent? what the hell did he run over...
I bet dealer is just playing around, since car is leased and they are trying to rip you off.
Should have just swapped it at home to save hassle.

In fact, for the most part, I think that 6 cyl's with loud exhaust sound even worse than 4cyl cars. One of the WORST sounding loud exhausts I've heard was on a Porsche 911 turbo.

What did you run over, a person holding a cement block?
And since you're leasing, they obviously know all of the problems that the is going to have.
If you live near Raleigh, NC I'll put it all on for much cheaper

Or if he has a coupe, I will sell him my whole exhaust (manifolds, real cat's, and stock piping)

They make fart cans on stock civics sound like mozart.
Stock... they sound great. When you make them loud..... BARF!!
Why don't you put a Craiglist for used G35 exhaust? I'm sure some one that have aftermarket exhaust might want to make some cash and sell you his old setup...Doesn't hurt I guess

The loud buzzing sound at high rpms and drone while cruising that come with exhaust on a v6..... I'm not a fan.

.
Well, can't you just tell your friend to tow the car outta the dealership if he CANNOT drive the car without the exaust? I mean can't he just tow the damn thing to somewhere else and install a Stillen or any other exaust for that matter for much cheaper? Even if you include towing, I'd think it's gonna be much cheaper than what the dealer is trying to charge him.
Good luck to your friend.
