making stillen intake louder...

anyone have any idea on how to make the stillen intake louder? i just replaced my pop charger with the stillen intake and i must say im really dissapointed with the sound...it sounds almost like the stock intake with the power duct removed..i was thinking of changing the stillen intake with the pop charger one to see if that helps. the stillen has that big chrome covering on the front of the intake...dont know why also i heard if you remove that resonator thats under the intake box its supposed to make it louder...any idea guys???

i thought popcharger+ztube was one of the louder intakes out there....are you running the intake with a z-tube?

anyway, if you're looking for noise, don't bother with intake, just get a new aftermarket exhaust and/or test pipes/hfc's, you'll forget all about the sound from the intake

Run a JWT popcharger filter in the Stillen airbox. That'll give you the nice whistle sound, if you like that sorta thing...

the whistling is kinda there, but it just doesnt scream the way it used to. i ordered the stillen after reading many reviews on here. everyone says it sounds awesome esp. after 3000 rpm, but i just dont hear it. sounds almost exactly like stock...not deep at all. im thinking of making the opening of the stillen box larger...hopefully this will help. and im still confused as to why stillen covered the front of the intake with their logo...??? i would think more air could be sucked in with the front open like the pop charger

why not just buy a pop charger filter and use it with the Stillen air box?

i have a pop charger filter already...i bought the stillen intake to replace it cause i heard good things bout the sound...like a nice low growl..but im not hearing anything like that. it honestly sounds slightly louder than stock. im gonna try the pop charger and see how it sounds and im gonna get rid of my throttle body spacer (it has rifling)..maybe thats the problem

You liked the popcharger, heard good things about Stillen, installed the Stillen and didn't like it as much......

....why not just go back to the setup you had before?

And as an owner of the Stillen Airbox, it is DEFINITELY without a doubt much louder than stock, it just might not be as loud as your previous setup.

Stillen CAI..........

I understand what you're trying to achieve but the Stillen intake was never made
to make noise but to get more filtered air into the plenum without heat. With
all the other mods I have it makes major noise above 2500 RPM. Like I've
posted before it scares little old ladys off the street!
