Wonder if that combo would give me some more power and not be too loud ??
Is the stock muffler even that restrictive ? I do have a coupe midpipe on but it's still very quiet.

I had Crawford CATs a while back coupled with my coupe middy and HKS rear. I had a slight rasp that winded up getting on my last nerve so I got rid of them. (It may have been due to a Y-pipe I had on there before as well)
As far as more power...from my butt dyno, it gave me more power throughout my entire range but alot more noticeable at higher speeds (on the freeway...WOT) and it did add a deeper tone to the exhaust.
Just get the HKS.

the HKS what ? sport muffler ?
I've never read anyone getting more poaer from adding just that. I want more power from my exhaust and not the loudness.

Trey did an experiment awhile back on an otherwise stock exhaust with and without the rear-most muffler.
His dyno results show that the 05/06 muffler robs minimial power when compared to no rear muffler.

Yes, but it doesn't necessary mean that it is more restrictive =)Originally Posted by 68_GT
and the 05/06 muffler is bigger than the 03/04 correct ?
(As a matter of fact, his dyno showed more power drop from the 03/04 rear muffler when compared to that of the larger 05/06 muffler)

Interesting! I wasnt aware the 05-06 was bigger than the 03-04, not to mention more power!
See you tomorrow Chris, and thanks for making me look bad...you too Godmans!!!! LOL

yes - I've been running topspeed headers & kinetix cats & stock exhaust for ~2-3yrs now. Definate power gain. Retains the stock tone but makes it louder and more aggressive.
I've also tried it w/ a catback, but hated the sound so I'm back to the stock catback now.

i would get the DC headers if I had to do it over again due to the fact that if u have to pass inspections they are carb legal. Damn Kali...

I had strup headers for a year and recently added high flow cats. Power gain were good but developed a rattle/rasp noise from 2-3krpm. Waiting on my X02 exhaust to see if that will cure it.
