I just installed the JWT popcharger and Z-tube in my coupe and I must say it sounds great. I can feel it a little bit, but not much. I have one question though. I hear a whistle when I step on the gas at first. Is that normal for the popcharger? I know that the injen and stillen CAI's have a whistle, but I haven't heard anyone with the popcharger having the whistle. I just want to make sure that I got it all hooked up correctly.

The whistle is fine. It's been discussed on here. It's just the nature of the pop-charger. Sounds sort of like forced-induction.

It's normal. The p/c is taking in more air, therefore the whistle.

i believe that the cone filter is what causes the whistle.

is the whistle sound supposed to be pretty noticeable? i just installed mine today, and i barely hear it unless i put my windows down. my car's still in break-in period, so i didn't have a chance take it over 3k rpm. i hear the hissing sound noticeably when i step on the gas at first, but just wondering if i have done something wrong here..

Clear markers w/ hid bulbs, Sprint springs, B&B Exhaust,JL Audio Hifonics combo.

 

The whistle is hard to hear unless you get it right around 3500 - 4000 RPMs. Even then with the windows up you can barely hear it. When the windows are down you should definitely be able to hear it. Wait till you get out of break in and you'll notice it much easier (it also helps if you're in MM).

 

LOVE the VRRRROOOOMMMM HATE the WHISTLE. There's gotta be a trick out there to get rid of it.

My whistle seems to be weather related, it wasn't there all winter. Temp hit 70 this week and here it is.

03 - Black - Premium - Wood - Aero w/ Spoiler - Z Tube - Grounded - Stillen CAI

 

Just installed a Z tube/pop charger last night. The whistle seems random. Maybe it's sneaking through the baffling on the heat shield? Depending on how you installed your baffle on it, the cracks between them vary. Do those without the heatshield still hear it?

Nonetheless, it's a no factor. It's more like a whirring than a high pitched whistle. No worries.
