what year is your G and did you buy it used?

My G was bought brand new!! 2006 5at and my friends is a 2005 mt.

I know what you describe, my older buick and chevy had those... However, that flex pipe does not carry exhaust to the throttle body. It allows the throttle body to suck in warmed air, by passing it over the headers.

The valve closes when the engine is warmed up, and heated air is no longer needed.
