Just put in my test pipes..but eh

I just got my TurboXS test pipes put in yesterday, and Im not really sure if I like them or not. The car is alot louder now (which I expected, but not this much), and I feel like I lost some low end torque and that I didnt gain much ponies. Also at WOT it sounds kinda ricey, I am really debating weather to put on the stock cats and sell these test pipes. Also the smell is really noticable.

What do you guys think I should do? keep in mind this car is also my daily, so.

Keep the pipes or put the stock ones back on?

I say get rid of it; it's not worth the obnoxious sound and smell for a daily driver, not to mention you don't even like how it sounds. From your post it doesn't sound like you're finding ANY positives to it, so it would be an easy decision for me if I were in your shoes.

Are they resonated or not? I have the Fast Intentions Exhaust + Fast Intentions Resonated Test pipes. At normal driving, NO rasp what so ever. At WOT, almost no rasp. It definitely is loud, but its a wonderful sound that many have complimented me for.

I'd never get non-resonated test pipes. And even with resonated test pipes, it will all depend on the actual exhaust itself in determining how much rasp the combination has.

And regarding power: if you have enough breathing mods, your car will run lean. Especially after adding test pipes. If it runs lean enough, the ECU will pull timing (trying to save your engine ). Consequently, you will definitely feel loss of power and the car will feel sluggish. I definitely need a tune as im running very lean. That should awaken the beast inside

yeah they are non-resonated, and I basically have straight pipes for my cat-back, true duel 2.5", with 4 resonators.

I agree. If you want to feel a difference, complete your whole air system... intake, plenum spacer, header, test pipes, exhaust... I noticed some good gains. Especially at top end... Good luck.

This is the reason i sold mine, although with Test pipes you gain lil high end torque, may be few extra hp. But on the down side yes that thing will make your car Loud for sure & I hope you installed an 02 fouler or else after 200 miles expect to get a SEL on the dash.

A small piece of black eletrical tape blocking your view does wonders and makes you less nercous than looking at the light
