performance modifications and factory warranties..
performance modifications and factory warranties..
hey folkzs.. i was wondering if by doing upgrades to exhaust and intake, would the dealer void the warranties..? alot of the mods i have read about here would definetly improve driveability issues.( grounding kits and so on..) but the dealers seem hesitant about warranties and modification, even though the mods itself don't cause any malfunctions.. i need to find a good dealer to service my ride.. kings infiniti sukx..
Re: performance modifications and factory warranties..
does anyone perform searches before they post on the topic of voiding a warranty?

Re: performance modifications and factory warranties..
sorry to sound ignorant to the fact that there have been post on this topic before.. but as i'm sure you know not all dealers have the same policies on performance mods..
Re: performance modifications and factory warranties..
It really doesn't matter what the dealer's policy is.. there's a federal law to cover it. The Magnusson Moss Warranty Act. Neither Infiniti nor your local dealer can void your warranty unless they can prove that the modification caused the failure.
Of course, you may have a fight on your hands in some cases.. say, if you put on a turbocharger and the engine blows due to some other reason. However, if you put on an aftermarket exhaust and the headlights fail, obviously not the mod's fault.
