Re: Pro-1 intake w/ JWT heatshield

hey moog,

is it possible to get just that polished intake tube? will it fit together with the JWT Popcharger?

I am pretty set on getting a Popcharger, but I would prefer a polished tube over the stock Z one.

You might be able to use it w/ the JWT popcharger, but it may require some modifications. As you can see, my filter is much smaller than the popcharger filter, and it resides a lot closer to the front of the car. I'm sure you could use it though w/ a little tinkering.

And by tinkering, I mean cut the tube shorter.

Re: Pro-1 intake w/ JWT heatshield

Hey moog did you get your spoiler yet? I did and my paint shop did not sand it nor fill it. They just straight painted it. So the spoiler got all meesed up. As far as the fitment goes I grade it a D-. I took it to somewhere elese and they ask me what was it made out of? I replied to them "Oh it's made out of fiberglass." They started to laugh and they said fiberglass wouldn't be that heavy that it is, it's more like a cast what the doctor's use. So yeah I thought I should let you know. I spent freaking $230 + 230 for the filling it sanding it and painting it. I should have just bought the real spoiler.
Very pissed off.

Hey Kozlik...I'm sorry but don't take this the wrong way. I'm sorry you are not happy with your spoiler. I have yet to get mine painted or installed. But you really need to take up your issues w/ David because I am not the one who made it, nor the one that sold it to you. If your body shop didn't prep it, then that is your fault for not discussing things in full detail with them on what your expectations were & the job they were to do. Please don't hijack my thread on my intake & heatshield. Again, I'm sorry you're not happy with yours, but I really can't do anything about it.

Re: Pro-1 intake w/ JWT heatshield

It's a oil catch can, it takes the line that supposed to go to the intake and instead run's it to the catch can. Might be the Cusco can I dunno, several companies make them, all a generic fitments, (not G or Z specific).

Re: Pro-1 intake w/ JWT heatshield

Most parts on my car are Pro-1...intake, exhaust, oil catch can, and engine torque damper.

Re: Pro-1 intake w/ JWT heatshield

The pro-1 looks awesome in my opinion. It's easy to install. Sounds just like any other intake w/ an open element filter. The intake w/ filter retails for around $139, so cost is low for what you get compared to other intake systems.

Re: Pro-1 intake w/ JWT heatshield

Cool, thanks G35TR.
is that tube connected to the stock air box?

how much did you have to cut off of the polished tube?
more details would be appreciated!

Re: Pro-1 intake w/ JWT heatshield

I believe I had to cut the tube about 4 inches. Yes, its connected to the stock airbox. The angle of the tube bend seems to be more then the stock tube, so you will notice that there is a bend where the tube meets the stock airbox piping.

Re: Pro-1 intake w/ JWT heatshield

FYI : For those who want to know, the JWT heat shield will work
with the K&N Typhoon cai/sr (sedan) sys. with a little work.
The hardest part is getting the rubber sealing parts in place!
No need for pic's, it looks like a Pop Charger with a red filter
and a painted intake tube. Oh, it also reduced the intake
noise ( to some - music to others )
