1/2" ISO MD Spacer performance???

I am going to make it short and sweet.....
I was coming back from the movie theater Sat. night after watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall ( BTW HILARIOUS! ). Anyway, my friend has an 04 coupe with a pop charger... everything else stock. My Coupe has pop charger + 1/2" ISO MD spacer and some other minor stuff ( which i dont expect to make a diff ) . We decided to give it a go at 1:30 AM in the morning coming out of Muvico 24 on I-75. We did rolls from 2nd gear up to 130mph, and then another we did one roll of 3rd gear up to about 125 mph..... We were NECK TO NECK . I had my wife in the car and he had his GF in the car so we were even pretty much. From the start we did not differ not even in inches! I didnt pull or walk nothing! I know its basically the SAME car, but i was expecting SOMETHING out of the spacer. Maybe a SMALL little bit of gain ..... but nothing..... Anyone care to elaborate on this? I don’t expect to pull by 5 cars from a spacer, but at least see a difference from $320 invested.

I can't comment on the 1/2" spacer but on my 5/16" spacer which I recently installed, I definitely noticed a difference in terms of thrust while going past 2K rpms. I'd probably try and get a dyno on the car and see how the results compare to your baseline (should be some difference I imagine).

Putting a spacer on your car doesn't necessarily mean it will make your car faster than another similar car, but it does mean you will make more power than you previously had.

There are so many variables that can affect the outcome of a race, it would be too extensive to list.

The best way to know what the spacer did for your car is to get a pre/post installation comparative test of some kind.

Weather it be a dyno or a (legal ) race.

I figure i would maybe have him low end since the car DOES feel to have more response coming from the hole. I dont know, i just think maybe some Res TP's will make the combo complete + maybe a techno tune.
BTW The race was a dream, it never happened in real life. For all you cops out there

100% true all cars vary may be your car had 240 hp starting and he had 245 and now with the mods you have close to equal power. But street racing will teach you nothing about your car. Go to the strip and compare slips 60 ft 1000 and et's

also b4 and after dyno runs are key to see what a car is doing with a mod.

Lots of foreign and domestic parts are being welded up now. But there are a couple other necessary parts that are holding up production. They are on their way but all I can do is wait for the boat.

Resonated test pipes?.... Of course I'm making them.
And they won't be like anything else on the market.

i guess not all engine created equal (condition and tolerance)

funny thing is, you have the Rev-up version of the VQ right?
isn't it suppose to be a tag quicker than the 04 non-revup VQ?

To the OP, I believe several factors made your car about equal to your friend's. the 2005 model has about 50-100lbs of extra weight due to interior redesigns and other changes from the 2004 model. Also, you are probably running 19s vs. his 18s which further slows down your car. Besides that, he just may be a better driver
