Test Pipes.. (I searched)

I've read so far that you can get the power increase of test pipes with a resonator to keep the noise down but does it help that much?

I have xo2 dual and the noise level is good enough for me.. I heard a Z with a fast intentions exhaust and test pipes.. His car was L.O.U.D. Will resonators help at all if you have an aftermarket exhaust? Also, can resonators hurt performance from the test pipes?

The noise level is the only thing holding me back right now.

you might as well get a hi flo cat instead of a test pipe if you're worried about sound.

yes you will. testpipes on our car are one of the most worth while mods, along with spacer and mrev. I have no cats on my xo2 and the pipes are not resonated. its loud but it pulls hard. High flow cats dont seem to be worth the money to me. testpipes are though

the difference between test pipes with and without resonators is minimal as far as sound level is concerned. The resonated ones will reduce the rasp but the overall volume will be the same. It will make you car loud, sounds like you don't want it any louder, if that's the case then test pipes are not for you.

With resonated test pipes, your car will be MUCH louder. The resonaters aren't really there to tone down the noise level, they are there to decrease the amount of rasp.

Performance is not affected by the resonaters what so ever.

If you are concerned with the sound levels, get some HFC.
