My v5 showed up yesterday... I had ordered it in powder coated blue. It is a little brighter than I expected, and the powder coating is not as perfect as I would have liked. But then again, Doug only charges $20 for PC'ing, and the shops around here and online run upwards of $60 to $120.
Can hardly wait to fit this thing on...+ I got a couple packs of TechFlex to dress up my engine compartment hoses/harnesses.
Stay tuned for some pix!
Cheers, Ted

I'd like to see the pics of your new v5. Not sure how it differs from my original plenum.
Good luck with the install-- If it's anything like the original, it won't be hard at all.

Got my V.5 Black powder-coated plenum today. Did ALMOST all the install. Was reinstalling the throttle body and dropped the %^*$ 5mm allen wrench. It disappeared somewhere in the underbody pan. Guess I'll have to buy another 1 tomorrow. Will take me approx. 5 minutes to complete my install. Other than dropping the %^& allen wrench, the install went smooth as silk. I'll post pics when I have it completed.

gte192t have you tried it? I watched a friend try it when I installed mine (kind of for fun because he's an AUDI and PORSCHE guy). It will not fit. The plenum mounting flange has the 4 holes drilled and tapped into it. The cover would have to "elongate" and "bend" to align with those mounting holes. The cover is not that plyable, therefore it will not work.

You can put some spacers in there to not have it flex but it is still going to rub.
For a 350z cover it is a simple cut to match the leading edge of the plenum. The cut will go through the "V6" lettering. I back filled the letters as well as "3.5" ground down and wet sanded smooth before I painted. I did not want to rebadge my car Nissan so I filled the indent for the Nissan logo and put an Infiniti trunk logo on it. It might be a little work but it is much cleaner.
I also added some foam padding on the air scoop as the cover and the scoop will rub.
Hope that helps once you get the cover.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion, I knew the "Zs" cover was longer, and I thought it might rub the center intake scoop. That's the reason I took the stock cover and cut it. I like the look, and so does's everyone who has seen it. Yours looks good too.
