K&N Filter and sensor

All dealership service PPL will complain about aftermarket parts, They try to convince you that by installing a K&N filter (which is a whole lot better than the filter they sell) will some how damage your engine or cause it to malfunction, Only because they wan't you to purchase parts from them....The Hi flow air filter they sell made by Nissan (NISMO) is identical to a K&N filter prob. uses the same oil, Yet they won't complain about that one.....

The person is probably claiming the filter had excess oil on it, which caused the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor to malfunction. It is a common problem if the filter is over-oiled. I personally stick with non-reusable filters to avoid this problem (I use a PureONE filter), but there are many people out there with reusable oiled filters that don't have this issue.

=D Thank ya.
Yeah i figured as much but the guy is running his own shop so i figured he would be a lil more insightful on performance stuff then a dealership but he seems like one of those old skewl people lol.
But Thanks for the info =D
If i do get that MAF error anyone know how i can personally fix it? Is it just a quick clean up?
