Ok Guys I know this is like the OLDEST Generic Mod for the G but I Just HAD to post this

First let me say the DIY on the site was GREAT!!! Full of PICS, Helped me do it much much faster...

Now back to the point.....DAMN this thing sounds Good....The extra growl you get under the hood at open throttle is Mean.....

I dont know if I feel any power difference but then again I havent run her yet...but man that sound is the Sh**!

Man ...I just poped them in today...i got the Ztube first..but i added the JWT popcharger ....Sound is MEAN....Engine sounds MEAN.....

Hey man DEFINATELY Goto to the FAQ and DIY forum on here and get the JWT Popcharger Z-tube install DIY..The link is to a website with Step by step of some of the MOST DETAILED pics I've ever seen on the install of both.

Heres a tip though thats not included in the DIY....

Use one of the bolts from the MAF (that connects it to the stock filter housing-there are 4 of the same kind) to attach the bracket that holds the heat sheild to the stock air inlet (the one above the grille)

Will post a pic of what I'm talking about tomorrow...(nothin speaks like a pic)...

I just installed Popcharger last week and I went 150km in my 1/2 tank of gas!!
that's about 100 miles for the top half of the tank....

gas in toronto is about 70 cents/Liter btw

 

My Pop Charger and Z tube should be here any day now and you guys are driving me crazy talking about it the sound. I think I made a good choice noe more than ever thanks guys.

I know what whistle you are talking about ....but I only hear that...when you first step on it or accelerate...

I'm talking about that open throttle Growl..growl!!! you get when you open it up ....I mean the engine noise gets louder but in a good way....

It just makes the G sound NASTY...like when you open up the throttle wide....you are lookin at the car next to you and the G says the next car "WTF you wanna do?"

Its just a mean *** growl.....Now You with the Borla on it also.....MAN I can only image the sweet harmony they make together...................AHHHHHHHHHHHH its killin me the Borla dual cat back is like $680 shipped (found a great website - simulatedmotorsports.com) and I'm dying for it now....but I gotta resist!!! (savin for a home) BUT DAMN!!

hey guys,

i just put on my pop charger/z tube combo and i was wondering about the whistle. I used to have a intake on my accord and it whistled at certain lower rpms.

so i know what the whistle should sound like but i dont hear any of that on my Gcoupe. did i install wrong or what ???
i really wanna know if this non whistle is normal.

Mine whistled for the first 5 minutes, somewhat randomly. For the last 120 miles it hasn't whistled once.

Yeah like he said ,,,,,,,,,,,,but you mostly hear it at WOT (wide open throttle) and hard steps on the gas not under normal driving........and it is random.......

I have to hold off on my pop charger... I bought a Vita-Mix 5000!!! Can't wait for it to get here.....also on a side notE my Z-Tube gets here on the 23rd according to UPS

Congrats on your Vita-Mix. I've had one for about 10 years, and it's still going strong. Great smoothies, iced coffee, and creamed soups.

It's not just the popcharger, it's every cone air filter that sounds like that. I have the injen cai and it sounds awesome when I WOT it in the high rpms.

How did you get that bracket to fit? The bracket is too long. The heat shield is already resting against the pop charger. If I move the the Pop charger to make the bracket fit, the MAF tube/end of Z tube, will rub against a metal pipe. Do you have the sedan or the coupe? Maybe the space is a little bit tighter in the coupe?
