Pics: NFC Y-Pipe
Just got my Y-pipe in. Looks to be well made with good mandrel bends, clean welds, larger collector than stock, etc. Can't wait to put it on and see what the good ol butt dyno says... hehe

Re: Pics: NFC Y-Pipe
Here's the the website.

Remember this system is meant for the Z. The Y-pipe will fit on our G's but the mid-pipe is a little shorter than ours and the muffler won't fit either I believe. Anyways, the service from them was very good. Ordered and had the pipe at my door within 6 business days and that was shipped from coast to coast. The price is very good at $285. Also another important note is that this pipe has a 65mm diameter which is in line with the stock specs. Other Y-pipes available like the JIC, Japtrix, Fujitsubo, etc. have larger diameters like 80mm.

Re: Pics: NFC Y-Pipe
The NFC Y-pipe will fit the sedan or the coupe no problem. The mid-pipe I believe will not fit the sedan or the coupe because it will be a bit short. That can be fixed by having a muffler shop weld in a short section of pipe.

They really need to put those flex pieces like the JIC, stock, and fujisubo or you'll run into some problems. Other then that, $285 is a good deal.

Re: Pics: NFC Y-Pipe
what type of problems will this pipe have.
I heard that the pipes without the flex pipe in them might crack the welds but some say that the exhaust has enough flex that you don't need the flex pipes.
Just wondering what you heard or came across.
Thanks

Re: Pics: NFC Y-Pipe
Well I installed the y-pipe last night. Took me about 1 hour with slow work. Pretty much an easy install, very straight foward. Only 6 nuts to undo to get the stock y-pipe off. Hard part was getting the nuts off since it requires a bit of muscle. So I ended up using a breaker bar for more leverage. Another hard part was getting the NFC y-pipe to fit on correctly. I had to adjust and wiggle with some muscle to get it to line up properly. Wasn't a big deal, just needs a little effort. NFC includes a bag of nuts, bolts, washers, and exhaust gaskets. If you are using the stock cats and the stock mid pipe you won't really need any of the provided nuts and bolts. For my case I have the stock cats but my mid pipe is custom with universal flange and a 22" Magnaflow resonator. So for the connections to the cats I just used the stock nuts and the provided washers from NFC. For the midpipe connections I had to use some stock washers with the provided nuts and bolts. I also decided to reuse the stock metal gaskets instead of the paper ones NFC provided. Not really a big deal there but I like the metal gaskets instead. It's nice that NFC provides a bag of these parts just in case you need them. Anyways, on to the good part. The good ol butt dyno... =D Starting up the car sounded a little different but idle remained the same. When accelerating the sound is also different over the entire power band. Not really any louder than when I just had the 22" resonator alone, just added a little more throatier growl so to speak. Just to mention my car is pretty much stock except a Z tube, the 22" Magnaflow, and now the Y-pipe. I did a couple of runs, one at WOT, and the engine does seem to breathe easier now that the ugly, restrictive stock y-pipe has been replaced. Maybe a little better acceleration throughout most of the powerband but can't tell for sure. I don't think a 5-6 rwhp gain is easily noticeable so I'll take the word of the dyno's that have been done on stock 350z's. Heck, maybe the G35 Sedan gets a little more out of it than the Z since the Sedan is more restricted in the first place. Overall this is a good mod for fairly cheap at $305 shipped. I'd recommend this pipe to anyone out there looking to extract more out of their exhaust system. Actually I would recommend any y-pipe out there over the restrictive stock one.
