Crawford V5 Plenum Questions

I've finally begun modifying my car after nearly a year of ownership and around 7,000 miles on it, and now that I have my z-tube coming to me in the mail, I'm thinking of also purchasing a Crawford V5 Plenum.
Now, I had a few questions about this piece, so I e-mailed the sales department at Crawford. However, after playing some e-mail and phone tag, I never really received any answers. So, in hopes of expediting the whole process, I figured I'd ask some questions here.

First off, I was wondering if there were any performance differences between the premium and regular versions of the plenum. I noticed that both, on their site (http://www.crawfordz.com), have the same dyno charts and descriptions, except that one, the premium, has a polished coat. Is this indicative of the fact that the premium, with a $200 higher price tag, has only cosmetic changes? If so, that could save me some money.

Secondly, when listing the prices on both, whether the regular at $395 or the premium at $595, there is a category following it entitled "Original Plenum Core Charge $200 (Refundable)." My question about this is simply whether that $200 is added to the first price and later on refunded, or whether that's part of the original price, meaning that the regular plenum costs, in essence, $195 and the premium $395.

Re: Crawford V5 Plenum Questions

I believe the prem. one is just powder coated...not sure on color choices..I got black...He only charged my credit card the price of the plenum and if you dont send it back he charges you the extra $ 200 . The plenum will make your engine louder , but you will be getting better and more even air flow to each cylinder .Gains will mostly be seen at the top rpm end

Couldnt afford it when young...gonna play when Im old

So there's no performance difference between Premium and Regular and the price is $395 total for the lesser of the two. Well, excellent. Thanks for the response.

Re: Crawford V5 Plenum Questions

$795.00 for the Polished. (Premium I believe).

$595.00 for the powdercoated color of your choice ones (limited).

$200 core charge refunded if you return yours to Doug off of these other prices. I chose black because of heat dissipation.

So $395 powdercoated if you return your core & $595 for the polished if you return you core.

Re: Crawford V5 Plenum Questions

Regular is $395.00 (Powder Coated Version)

Premium is $595.00 (Polished version)

Both have a $200 core charge, if you don't return your stock plenum. Doug trusts you not to charge the $200.00, if you say you're going to return it. Both prices above DO NOT include the core charge.

It's a fantastic mod, one that I highly recommend.

Lou

Re: Crawford V5 Plenum Questions

premium is $$ more for labor to polish

powder coating is $20 more

add $200 to price if you are going to keep your old plenum, like I did!

All the v5's are the same.

Cheers, Ted

booger, power gains kick in almost immediately (before 2k rpm's). Check out the dyno chart on CrawfordZ's website if you think I'm kidding... Look at the "area under the curve" and like it!

Re: Crawford V5 Plenum Questions

Man, I love my V5 Crawford plenum. Got mine 3 days ago and installed it right away. I have Stillen CAI and 350Z tube. After the install, it actually got a little quieter but sounds more tuned.. Can't describe for sure but I love the sound even more. It purrs.. like a mean cat.. HAHA..

I highly recommend Crawford V5 plenum. Install took a hour. No problem what so ever. Dough at Crawford is a cool guy.

Good luck.

Re: Crawford V5 Plenum Questions

I did not do the dyno. Crawford site has that info. www.crawfordzcar.com. I can definitely feel it. The car is just willing to move..

Re: Crawford V5 Plenum Questions

If you actually do ever dyno your car, please make sure to post it on the forums. You have the exact mods I'm planning to aquire and I'd love to see a basic idea of what it'll do for me at the wheels.

Re: Crawford V5 Plenum Questions

Just got off the phone with Dave from Crawford and I'm on their waiting list for one of the V5 Plenums now. So hopefully, in 2-3 weeks when my name comes up, I'll be sent my nice new black powder-coated plenum.

Now to work on saving up the cash for that, not to mention the Stillen CAI box and that Stillen shift pattern chip, if they ever finish it... Too many things to buy.
